Look here, you. We do not have time to quibble. There are bank heists to be pulling, estate jewels to be pilfering. This is not about what you want to spend your ill-gotten gains on later when you run away to a tropical villa to escape the authorities. This stool is for when you are still planning your airship raid in your back-alley clockmaker's shop. It comes pre-rusted and just oozing attitude and panache. Breakfast bar? Oh no, hells no. Nook seating? Nuh uh, this puppy is made for battle, from its heavy metal base, wide, stable spider legs, to its johnny-pump aesthetics. This is a boiler room stool. You should plan capers on this stool. You should be sitting on this when counting out the loot to the rest of your steampunk robber gang. This stool is for leaning forward over the map that One-Eye Jameson drew up on the layout of Farmingham's mansion. Why you asked a one-eyed man to do the reconnoiter is your own darn business. For now, let's talk about your chair. Its heavy. You want that in a stool. Your cat, Shifty, won't be knocking it over in the middle of the night. Its metal. Its going to be durable, and there are no parts with little screws connecting things, creating a single, weak point of failure. They don't spin easy, which you might think is a negative, but its not. Spinning things come loose faster than Johnson's lips did after the Marley job. And you know what happened to ole loose-lips. They won't find him until the spring thaw. I took points off because its a big, fat, solid wood seat. Again, that's good. Its going to stand up to spills, abuse, even when Tiny Williams sets down his 400 pound bulk on them. I do like these stools, but part of me was a bit disappointed that they are largely made of cast metal that seems like it could break somewhat easily. The legs, which are designed to look like galvanized steel pipe, are just cast from thin pot metal and are nowhere near as rugged as what real pipe would have been. I weigh 190lbs and the stools seem to hold up just fine for now, but be aware that while they appear to be rugged industrial, upon closer inspection they're not as sturdy as you'd think. The central portion with the caps sticking out is also just a simple cast with spot-welded caps...again, not a total deal-breaker because it looks great from a distance but up-close you can tell it's a fairly cheap reproduction. You can see this in some of the close-up photos of the barstool. I will say that overall I'm still satisfied with my purchase and the stools function well and look pretty good; I think they'll hold up okay but I would have honestly paid another $20 or $30 to have something that would stand up to closer inspection and be more durably-constructed. They came very well-packaged and were extremely quick to assemble (<5 minutes), which is nice. ... show more

I love these! Ordered 3 for a kitchen island and they're just exactly what we were looking for. They were easy to assemble, sturdy, and can easily be adjusted in height. I ordered them on Sunday afternoon and they were here on Wednesday, delivered in excellent condition.

I bought 4 of these for our kitchen reno. Our giant (5' x 10') island seats 8 and is our home's only dining seating. We like an industrial/modern vibe, and I thought these were perfect. I read all of the 1- and 2-star reviews because those are my people - if something is going to be bad, I want to know it. I wasn't put off by the lower reviews and ordered 4 stools -- 2 for each of the shorter sides of the island. They were super easy to put together, and they look FANTASTIC. They also feel very sturdy and well made. I may order 4 more and forgo looking for the elusive "swivel, with backs, with arms, and cushioned" unicorn bar stools for the island's long side. See the 3 pics of them in the (almost finished) kitchen. We are already enjoying them, AND they can be used as a side table in a pinch (or party). ... show more

I purchased four of these stools for our new home. I was excited to find distressed white stools to match my bar and other furniture. They arrived in a timely manner, easy to put together, and they are very sturdy. The issue is they are not a true white color as pictured. They have a yellow tint; like antique white. You can see this in attached images.This is disappointing as they do not match the rest of my 'white' distressed furniture. I love this stool - love the color, love the look, love the wood. I like that I can slide in and out from the table easy because I have ADD. Sit, stand, walk, repeat. So much better than the chair(s) I had before (which were old and hideous and uncomfortable and, are now gone). My kitchen identifies as a French Farmhouse, and the stool fits right in, while adding a little industrial feel. Pairing it with a 20+ year old dark walnut table, which has lightened over time. The stool is darker but blends well with the darkness of the grain. You can see how the woods compare and kind of "work" in the 2nd picture (ignore the piece of cardboard under the table leg - tacky I know, that's the next little project!). So far It's held up with all different weights up to a 220lb person. Super easy to put together - the directions actually includes steps that are already complete, but once you realize you aren't missing any parts, it's a breeze. I'm going to buy more of these - it's always nice to have an extra stool around. ... show more

Love it! Has an antique look and gives a pop of color. The piece of wood on top is very pretty. The whole piece is well built and looks more expensive than it is. It can also be used as a side table.
