  • It Works very well
I bought it on the recommendation of a friend, and I don't regret it, it melts 7018 well at 110v, in fact I use it at 110v, it also welds well with mig, I also recommend the wire from the brand itself, if you are going to use the mig at 110v I recommend using it the 0.30 wire from Toolion. In short, if you are thinking about buying a welding machine with a good price and good quality, feel free to buy this one. ... show more

  • Great welder for the price
This welder isn't set up like your typical Miller or Lincoln but still performs great. It takes some getting use to the settings for heat and wire speed but nothing crazy. It lays nice beads and doesn't feel to cheap. The wire feeder is metal and not plastic so that's a bonus. I had to buy a regulator and hose to use gas but that's only another $25. Overall I would for sure buy it again. It also helped me build a 2018 camaro desk for my auto class I teach. ... show more

  • Not all good
Style: 250A Aluminum MIG Welder
Purchased: Tooliom TL-250 Welder Let's begin at the good stuff. The welder is amazing at 120 volts. I don't have 220 available so that is a limitation for me, no reflection on the Tooliom 250 welder. I had the TL-250 for 3 weeks and I used it HARD every day for hours. It never quit, it didn't reset for over heating, it ran constantly without falter. I only used the Mig feature and only on ferrous material. I didn't use the gas on solid wire either. I just used flux core wire .030 size. I tried the MMA function and it worked, but I am a lousy stick welder so I couldn't evaluate that feature. Also, I never tried the TIG either. It has enough knobs and switch functions to confuse or satisfy depending on how you look at it. In Synergy mode (automatic) it computes for itself on what to do and it works very well. You can adjust induction and voltage a bit in this mode if you need to fine tune. In manual mode you have to fiddle with the settings if you have varying pieces of metal you are welding together. It's not difficult or frustrating at all. I like to fiddle so I liked it. That's pretty much it. Now the not so good. The unit comes with a spool of .030 wire you must install and feed through the stinger. I used up the spool and changed it for .035 wire as that is what I had on hand. This is where the problem came in for me I must stress. Others may not have had a problem, but I haven't seen any reviews for the TL-250 either. I think I am the first one to do so. I fed the wire through the stinger as required. At least that is what I tried to do. Well, the diffusion liner, that's technically what it is called, call it the feed cable or liner, the wire got stuck half way through. I pulled it back out and did it again. And again. And again. By now I'm thinking maybe a bit of wire broke off inside the liner and it wouldn't let the .035 size wire through. I don't get mad at machines because, well, they are machines and they just do. I save my anger and frustrations for other things. It was a challenge for me to try to figure out. I fed the wire through AGAIN and this time I marked on the liner where the sticking point was. Did I say I had to pull the liner out of the stinger and out of the feed mechanism in the welder? Yep. No other way to check my theory. Now,the liner cable is tightly wound. So tight in fact that I couldn't see inside the groves if the wire I fed through was sticking there and why. So I bent the liner a little bit where I had marked it. Still no good, so I bent it a little more. Not enough so I bent it a LOT and there was nothing blocking passage for my wire. Did you ever try to respring a spring? It doesn't work. At this point I just bent the hell out of the liner to see waht was blocking the wire passage. Nothing. Absolutely nothing there! I screwed up the liner so badly that I said to myself, self ya gotta buy a new one. They don't exist! Oh yeah, Miller, Hobart, Lincoln, they all have liners specifically made for them. I contacted Tooliom and their response was, " we don't have the metal liners". Okay no problem I 'll just look for one on line. Nope. Wrong size of the button on the fitting end. The one you need is 8.5mm. So keep this in mind. I returned the welder... ... show more

  • Tooliom Welder 110V Model 135M Flux-Wire/Stick/Lift-TIG 2-knob version
Style: Welder
Almost 9 months and still GOOD! I purchased the Tooliom 135M 110Vac Flux/Stick/Lift-TIG welder around July 2023 for ~$104. It is the version with 2 control knobs. image1 I have a HF flux welder with similar specs but anyone who has one knows those HF flux welders are old-style iron/copper transformer based (freakin' HEAVY!) and output is AC (mediocre penetration and SPLATTER BEADS GALORE). I did convert my HF to DC which made weld penetration better and almost completely eliminated splatter beads. BUT it is now even HEAVIER so it is not really portable. It is also limited to FLUX welding ONLY so no Stick or Lift-TIG options. Enter this Tooliom 135M. I wasn't expecting "great" performance from it, just hoping for adequate performance with less splatter (DC output) and lighter weight (inverter power supply) so I can transport and use the welder at different locations. Installed some 0.035 flux wire and started my first small projects using out-of-the-box knob settings (roughly centered). I needed a couple custom "bung wrenches" for chemical drums and totes. Two small wrench welds shown, larger wrench (not shown) welds looked the same. image2 Parts are 1/2" galvanized iron pipe with 5/16" thick tabs of steel. Didn't even try to clean off zinc pipe coating. Just welded right through it. I DID weld this OUTSIDE and avoided breathing any of the vaporized zinc fumes (white clouds) so "welder zinc fever" was not a problem. Galvanized metal welders should BE AWARE this can be a health hazard. SUPER smooth and easy welds. Excellent weld penetration. Easy flux cleanup with a wire wheel. None to a few scattered weld splatter beads. Those may be my fault for improper wire "stick-out". I think I got too close (stick-out too short) on the one weld with the visible splatter beads. I have also used the flux function to make some custom sensor brackets for a date-code-printer on a production canning line and repaired parts on a large metal gate latch/lock that was vandalized (destroyed!). Overall I am VERY IMPRESSED with how this little welder performs "flux wire" welds on 110V. I also used the "stick" function and some 309L stainless rods to make some custom stainless steel brackets for a new canning line. Welds were structurally good but I did get a little blow-through on some thinner sheet metal sections. That is strictly MY FAULT. It was my first time stick welding these stainless steel rods and I think either my current was set too high or I was going too slow. Regardless, the welding machine performed above expectations. The operator just needs more practice/experience ;-) I have a TIG torch (not supplied with this purchase) which will work with this machine in "Lift-TIG" mode but have not tested that function yet. Overall I rate this welder 5* for performance/dollar. Cheers :-) ... show more
