Its dual-mode functionality ensures versatility, allowing users to switch between methods based on the specifics of the job at hand. The machine offers an adjustable current range from 0 to 135 amperes, providing ample power for most light to medium welding tasks. This adjustability is particularly beneficial for precision work where varying the intensity of the current is crucial. • Inconsistent output
I have very mixed feelings about this welder. I love that it is so light and portable, but I'm completely unimpressed by its total inability to strike a good arc when using 7018 rod. It doesn't matter whether you use 120 or 240 Vac, it's nearly impossible to strike and hold an arc, no matter where I set the amperage. Apparently a quirk of the inverter type welder since the Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 buzz box I used to own welded beautifully with 7018. So if you want to use 7018, run away. But this one still works fine with 6013, and quite probably other types of rod that I haven't tried with it yet. (I'll update if I try using anything else.) Another plus is the detachable cables, so if you damage one, then fixing/replacing it shouldn't be a problem. It also has a much better grounding clamp than some units I've seen. And did I say it's light? WAY easier to move around than the Lincoln was. And it can run on 120Vac, although it seems happier plugged into 240 volts. I do have to wonder how accurate the amperage readout is. It seems a bit optimistic to me. So it isn't totally useless, and if you're welding now and then using 6013 rod, I actually think it's a bargain. But if you want to use 7018, as I said above, run away. ... show more

  • Fairly Impressed with first try...
Pattern Name: 195A Stick Welder
I had a small project to weld up and didn't want to drag out the Big Daddy machine for it. I was skeptical about how this little welder would perform on 110v power. I must say, it performed like a champ. Time will tell how well it holds up, but it's first steps onto the field were pretty smooth. Easily struck up an arc and laid the welds like silk. Of course I was only running a 3/32 6013 rod on 70amps. Next step is 1/8in 7018. That'll be a better guage on it's performance. But for now, I'm fairly impressed with it. ... show more

  • Had it for months and it's worth every cent
Pattern Name: 135A
This this is amazing, so good I ordered 3. I welded everything you can think of. Sheet metal to thick trailer axels, and it holds. It is so strong if you aren't careful it will burn holes in thick metal. I used it with 3/32 inch 6011, 7014, and 7018 and used 1/8 inch 6011 and it welds it all. Only thing is after welding it at 140 for a hour and a half non stop my switch melted that turns it off and on but I easily fixed it for free. ... show more

  • Honestly Pretty Impressed
Pattern Name: 195A Stick Welder
Honestly I'm pretty impressed with this little thing. It's super light weight and I used the crap out of it to fix my car exhaust. I'm no professional welder by any means but this did the job! I used E6013 rods from Menards. I used the welder on 120V setting mostly at 75A. I did use it at 140A but that will blow a 15A breaker pretty easy. I think it would be a lot better on a 20A circuit. My car exhaust was super rough. From dragging on the ground I had to fill large holes and this did it great. Took some time and looks like Sh!t but it had good penetration and did the job flawlessly. Super glad I chose this option over some of the others. Don't let the price deter you id highly recommend from my experience. Hopefully it lasts for the long run because this job paid for the machine but obviously there's a lot more to come for it. ... show more
