Description

The instant 1 New York Times and USA Today bestseller, a story about a woman caught in a dangerous web of obsessive love, trying to find a way out before it’s too late… this new, updated edition is a “barn-burner” (New York Post) and Colleen Hoover’s darkest romantic thriller since Verity. Sloan will go through hell and back for those she loves. And she does so, every single day. Caught up with the alluring Asa Jackson, a notorious drug trafficker, Sloan has finally found a lifeline to cling to, even if it’s meant compromising her morals. She was in dire straits trying to pay for her brother’s care until she met Asa. But as Sloan became emotionally and economically reliant on him, he in turn developed a disturbing obsession with her—one that becomes increasingly dangerous every day. When undercover DEA agent Carter enters the picture, Sloan’s surprised to feel an immediate attraction between them, despite knowing that if Asa finds out, he will kill him. And Asa has always been a step ahead of everyone in his life, including Sloan. No one has ever gotten in his way. No one except Carter. Together, Sloan and Carter must find a way out before it’s too late… Read more

I didn’t know what I was getting into when I was reading this at first. But as the pages kept coming I couldn’t put the book down. So amazing and never ending , in a good way of course!

  • Read this quickly
I liked the plot and storyline. Kept my attention. Was an easy read. The ending was a bit crazy but thats ok - it’s good when it doesn’t always go how I thought it would.

  • Fun to read, frustrating characters
You fly through this book, the story flows and it’s easy to follow. There are definitely some tense moments and I was pretty gripped in suspense. I don’t buy some aspects of the characters and it would pull me out. Honestly I am not a huge fan of most Colleen Hoover novels, even though I want to be! I enjoyed Verity, with the same issues. The characters come off a bit- lacking and predictable. Reading this novel was like watching a cheesy lifetime movie, and Im starting to think thats the charm Colleen is going for so I will get with the program and adjust my expectations next time I crack open something she wrote. 😃 ... show more

  • Wow!!!!
Wow is all I can say about this book, it was so well written and even though there was a lot of heavy stuff, Colleen blended moments that were very poignant with some mild comedy. It truly is an amazing read, I would definitely recommend those book, yes there are a lot of triggers but I believe the beauty of the story as a whole is completely worth the read. Possibly an unpopular opinion but I felt so bad for Asa, especially the story about his dad leaving him under the house. I think you would have to be dead not to be heartbroken for the little boy he was. ... show more

  • Easy read, entertaining
A good story. Could have been a little deeper, there is more that could have been expanded upon. I wish the author had given some closure to Sloan’s brother, Stephen, and his relationship with Luke. t was a quick easy read.

  • Too Late, TOO GOOD!
I love books that go back and forth between characters to give everyone's point of view. I loved this book, it was so good and kept me on the edge and wondering what was going to happen next!!

  • loved this book
This particular author’s books are normally a hit or miss for me. This book was a hit. I read the whole thing in two days. I don’t like sappy romance novels and some of her books are sappy but this one wasn’t. I really liked another book by this author called “Verity” but I didn’t like the ending because it ended with a secret being kept from the main character which is something that bothers me when books do that. This ended with an unanswered question but I was ok with it. This was a romance and a mild thriller so it kept me reading. I’m a huge fan of affairs and jealousy in books because they’re topics most authors shy away from but this author tackled the subject and I was so thankful! I’m hoping to find another book like this. ... show more
