They look like the pictures provided by the seller. That’s a plus. The aluminum(?) stake it comes with is hollow and super flimsy feeling I couldn’t stick it into the ground. If your soul is at all firm don’t expect to be able to pound this into the ground without damaging the stake. I think potted plants would be the way to go with these. ... show more

These lights worked just fine right out of the box. They shine bright at night and, if you can adjust the angle correctly, they do light up the (fabric) butterflies nicely. They are a bit wobbly and bending the "stems" just right so that you can see a lit butterfly instead of a round light bulb is more of challenge than it should be. I understand that this is probably part of the trade off in exchange for having a "swaying" effect. All-in-all, they are nice, however. I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. ... show more

Swaying solar garden lights are very popular now and there are plenty to choose from. This set stands apart in that it adds silk butterflies to the equation. In theory, this could make the lights more interesting during daylight hours and potentially at night too, depending on where the lights are positioned. The stalks of the lights, which are green instead of the usual black, are easy to spread out and sway nicely in the breeze. The butterflies definitely add a nice dash of color. They come out of the box a little crumpled up but they seem to straighten up over time. The product photos depict the butterflies glowing at night. This isn't really accurate. If you're close enough to the lights and you look down on the butterflies, they are partially illuminated. The farther away you are from the lights, the more the butterflies just kind of block the view of the light after dark. This set of lights seems well made (and I've tested at least 10 different variations) and definitely stands apart from the others. Whether or not it is right for you depends on what you think about the butterflies. My wife thinks they make the lights look like something that belongs in "grandma's garden". I don't agree. I like them but I still probably prefer the lights without butterflies on them. If you like the butterflies then I can fully recommend these lights to you. Five stars. ... show more

This arrives almost completely assembled. The only thing is attaching the metal pole to the butterflies and then the spikes to the bottom of the metal poles. I placed these in front of our plants on our side yard. The butterflies are very bright and colorful. They look just as pretty during the day as they do at night with the lights. I have many of this type of solar light, but without the butterflies. When I saw these, I knew I had to have them. They are very cute and even in the daytime they dress up the garden area with the swaying butterflies. Once the sun goes down, the solar bulbs light up and they stay lit for hours. Depending on how sunny the day was will determine how long they last at night. Mine have been staying lit for 8+ hours each night. They are simple to use and install. Just put the top section of the post onto the spiked end and place it in your garden. Make sure you have it where the solar panel will get sunlight during the day. You can move the wands that the lights/butterflies are on to spread them out more. The butterflies are made of a thin silk/cloth that has no material/wire in it to help shape the butterflies. So the wings of the butterflies were bent and folded in the box and did not go back to a nice shape when removed from the box. I think an improvement would be a very thin wire on the edges of the wings to shape them would make them 10 times better. They are cute and once my plants have come in more, the butterflies will look very nice floating over the daylilies. ... show more
