The setup looks like it will be easy, but after reading many reviews we anticipated that it would be difficult, and it was. We did have to use two phones to get it started. Also then couldn’t figure out how to shut it off. Which it shuts off on its own after about 10 mins. My kids ( ages 2 &4) love it and can use it on their own. They have hours of fun listening to their favorite songs and stories. Would recommend to anyone if they are ready for the challenge of the set up process ... show more

We love our Tony box! I have two for my preschool classroom and then purchased this one for my daughter who is two. I love that kids can use it independently! My daughter is young, so she enjoys the musical Tony characters (which is why we went with the Frozen set), where my preschool students love them all! I had a few of the characters for 'older' grades, so I loaned one box to third grade, who also enjoyed listening to the books when they finished up work early. I bought this item for my daughter who was having trouble going to sleep. For the cost, I had high expectations. The item hasn’t lived up to any of them. First, it’s not able to be controlled via wifi. Going back in to make any changes defeats the purpose. Second, the force for which you need to use in order to change the song is so great that it’s hard to keep the character on top. Third, the app is useless and only serves as a way to order more overpriced characters. I regret buying this item and can no longer return it because you have to open all sorts of packaging just to use it. It’s cheap with no innovative qualities. ... show more

Love our tonie box! Great gift for our toddler. Easy to use. She loves the play with characters on their own but also put them on to hear each ones songs or stories. A great toy! I love that she is able to listen to her favorite stories while limiting screen time.

I purchased this for my twin grandchildren. Bought them the green one one for there 2nd birthday in September. It was such a hit they now both want to play with it all the time. Christmas time they needed a second box. It is such a great product very durable. It's squishy, I didn't expect that. The tonies customer service is also amazing. They will help you in any way they can. I highly recommend this for the little ones you can eliminate screen time while they listen to music and stories. I love that I can log Into the account and see what characters they already have and purchase them a new Tonies just because. I don't think you will be disappointed if you make this purchase. I bought the Tonies Box for my two year old for Christmas. This was her “big” gift for the holiday and I set it up the night before. Pros: - Child friendly, the box is soft, the light in the top flashes blue but then turns green when a character is connected. - My toddler can easily change the song or story by hitting the side of the box. I love how kid friendly the features are. - The characters have so much content. Lots of songs and stories. There is a lot of content for each character and I like the variety of characters available. - When the device is connected and working properly it responds very quickly to being activated. My daughter loves to lift the characters up and make the music stop, then put it back to start it up again. I was initially worried it would take time to recognize the character and lose her attention, but it’s so quick! Cons: - Luckily I was able to connect the device with little trouble, however, I dislike that you have to restart the entire registration process if something during the set up goes wrong. For example, I entered my Wifi password wrong and instead of being able to just re-enter it I had to do the entire registration process again. - After successfully setting it up, the Tonies app suddenly became unavailable on Christmas morning and the device wouldn’t connect at all. When something goes wrong, the device won’t give you any indication of what to do. Instead it will give you a “support word” and you have to search the app for the word to find out what’s going wrong. My support word was “owl” and once I searched for it the app said there was no information it could give for that support word. So frustrating! - The cost for the device isn’t so terrible, but it’s the characters that drive up the price. At $17 a character, it’s difficult to build up enough without spending a pretty penny. I like that this set came with a few characters to get you started. Overall, my daughter loves it and plays with it every day. I would definitely buy it again. ... show more
