After several weeks, all 8 torches work fine, and we still love the flickering flame effect. Used 1/2 in. x 4 ft rebar stakes to slip the plastic support poles over. They all shine full-strength until dawn, while our cheaper solar path lights have mostly gone out by that time. I just ordered 4 more.

High quality. Love the adjustable heights for different uses. Put out a fair amount of light, so not just amazingly cool to look at. They seriously look like real flames from a distance. Husband wants to buy several more. We are going to purchase flag pole holders and attach to our log cabin porch posts at an angle. Old world feel. They come on as soon as it is dark, and stay on bright into the wee hours. We did notice if our pergola lights are on near the area, they go off. Bummer. Another reason we are moving them to the other side of the house. Purchase them, definitely worth it! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Installed an ornamental pond and dry riverbed in our back yard recently. Tons of choices for accent lighting yet wanted something different. Opted to go with these. First off they do create the impression of tiki torches. Each light consists of dozens and dozens of small led lights that, when light, cascade and flicker randomly creating the illusion of dancing flames. The light given off is more orange and golden than typical lights which is in keeping with the tiki torch effect. The cages or body of the light if you will feels like it is made of aluminum and the unit itself is weighty. The poles that support the light are made up of several plastic sections approximately 6 inches long that connect together. Thus you can adjust the height from low to the ground to as much as two or three feet. The poles seem sturdy enough when the lights are positioned on ya foot or two off the ground, but I wouldn’t trust them several feet up in the air. They last all night from dusk to dawn on a full charge. As we have had these only a few days I cannot comment on longevity, but I will be updating my review over the next year. Yes, these were pricey - yet based upon the product, the ease of installation, and the terrific look I’d gave to give this an easy 5 star review. ... show more

Ordered these for lighting the pathway behind my home on the edge of some woods. They functioned for one week, then NOTHING. When I contacted the company, I was sent at no additional cost another set - slightly different in that the stakes are shorter and attach differently. They did the same thing - worked for one week while exposed to the bright sunny days on my deck. Metal around the lights was rusting. Replacement lights showed individual LEDs, probably used thinner white plastic cylinders around the LED arrays. Based on the fact that these lights use 18650 batteries, I would suppose that their supplier of solar panels is using substandard insufficient capacity solar panels. In other words, they cannot provide enough energy to adequately charge the 18650 batteries. It could be that the batteries are not up to the job. The instructions say to hold down the button (under the rim at the top) until the lights come on - a few seconds. But there is no indication as to whether the light is ON or OFF. And it does not say the battery can be charged while the button is ON or OFF. One of the 4 came ON but dimly for a few minutes after being in the bright sun for a week. None of them comes on when it gets dark now. R&D needs to do some serious work before selling these., and stop using lowest bid to buy their parts. Bottomline: I ordered a set of 6 from another manufacturer - 4 sets now for 4 different houses / people. They all are lighting up at night ... show more

    • 3 of the 4 NOT working after just one month! 4th died after second month!

I live in Las Vegas where the ground is very rocky so when I first got these, they would not go into the ground. They sat inside my door for around 2 months before I bought one of those stake drivers to hammer a stake into the ground. That tool finally allowed me to install these lanterns. I pressed the buttons to turn them all on and the following evening, they were ALL lit up and looking GREAT! After a few days, one of them stopped turning on. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough sunlight to stay lit all night long and since I'm not around to check them the first few hours after the sun goes down, I went with that theory. Another few days later though, 2 MORE were out. Over the next 2 months, 1 and sometimes 2 lamps would be lit when I got home but never more than two. Now, another month or so later and I'm down to just ONE of the four working. I love the one that works but a 75% fail rate after just a couple of months of use is not good at all. I recommend buying from a different company. *Update 11-08-2019 - The fourth one stopped working now too. Waste of money! ... show more
