I looked at several alarm systems in this price range, and what helped me decide on this item was not having to incur a monthly cost with an alarm system. Truth be known, there is a small (think it was $5) monthly fee if you want text message alerts when you are not home, but I did not need/want that. Setup could have not been easier, as my kit had both the remotes and the FOB's pre-paired. I unbox, applied adhesive tape, and then deployed the sensors. The sensors work well and were easy to deploy. The base station/siren was also easy to setup. The biggest challenge was not seeing the switch on the base station, I though it was just decoration and not a switch. Once I figured that out, I was off to the races. The siren is loud, and I have it next to my bed as to wake me in the event I have a "visitor" after hours that was not expected. The FOB's make arming and disarming simple, and you can completely ignore the app if you don't want to use it, once deployed. So, my minor issues: I did not read the instructions, I just started to setup OOB. I struggled for about 5 minutes trying to turn on the base station/siren. Once I figured out the power switch, it was easy to do the rest. The app is good, but busy. You can find everything, but there are plenty of features. I found the screen to show the sensors, and they were all pre-paired. Same with everything else. I wish they numbered the sensors, such as renaming them to Sensor1, sensor2, etc. I still have to figure out which is which at some point, but not critical and I discovered a way to do this (more later on that). The app shows many, and I mean many, other sensors you can add, from a mailbox alert when you get mail, to water and temperature sensors to turn on a fan or AC if the temperature gets above a set temp. The issues I have is that I could not find any of these sensors on Amazon, or elsewhere. I wish the company, Tolvivio, had their own site so I could buy what is not on Amazon. The base station is bright, and I did not see any option to completely turn off the light. You can put it in "night light" mode and a dim red light replaces the bright white, but in the end I used duct tape to completely block out the light. Make sure you do not cover the speaker if you do this. End issues. I added some extra sensors, and this was easy and I did actually read the instructions for this step. Again, super simple. You can set a sensor to trigger even if the system is disarmed, and you can do this on 1 sensor at a time. So, to track down which sensor is which, you set the sensor to "alert when disarmed", then open the door, and you can figure out which is sensor #1, etc. So in the app, set a sensor to "triiger when disarmed, then go start to open doors. When the alarm goes off, you know that sensor is the one you changed in the app. Now rename that sensor to "sensor #1", and then change the setting back to default, Repeat for the rest of your sensors. ... show more

This set up was perfect for me. I have two doors and three windows on my main floor. The instructions are a little broken English-y but at least their printed larger that typical items like this. It took me under an hour to set up and I was taking my time checking each sensor. Much easier to set up than some Chinese webcams and smart plugs -- since -- the sensors are already paired. Three great features -- 1. I take a nightly walk. I don't want to carry my big phone with me to arm and disarm and so this company provides TWO tiny remotes with purchase. I was able to disarm from outside my front door. 2. There's a phone app that can automatically arm the system an hour after I typically go to sleep and an hour before I typically wake up. Every night. Pure piece of mind. 3. It's over 5 months later and the included batteries are fine. Three minor criticisms after 5 months -- 1. Above I said you can auto arm and auto disarm. The problem is the unit makes a LOUD BEEP when you do that. And so if you sleep lightly it will wake you up. There is no 'silent mode' offering and so I must arm this manually each night and disarm before we open a door. A software update would rule. 2. In a spoiled world the phone software would let you easily rename each alarm after they've been set up. Perhaps a NAMING MODE where it invites you to trip each alarm and then rename the location. Also, similarly, if a battery becomes weak it would warn you of which locations. 3. Oh. This was surprising. The tape that holds the sensors to the wall? On smoother surfaces the sensor will kinda move. Over time. Extremely slowly. I had to tape one into place with a different tape. If you can buy this with FREE RETURNS you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. BUY IT! My only concern is how to eventually switch out the batteries on the sensors without loosening their grips to my doors and windows. EXTRA WOW UPDATE Wife and I go for a nightly walk. Couldn't find the remote. Looked everywhere. When we came back I made dinner and wife put my wet laundry in the drier. During dinner this alarm system started going off. Like it was defective, like it lost it's mind. There was no way to stop it but FORCE STOP the phone app. But the next morning I realized I had accidentally left the remote in my pants. It was going off while spinning in the hot dryer! And get this: the remote still WORKS! You can't make this stuff up! ... show more

Very easy and simple to install,low cost reliable and effective this will warn you of intrusion remotely on your smartphone when you're gone from your house . I used this in conjunction with a much louder but less expensive alarm that couldn't alert remotely on a smartphone but rather had a very loud sounding piezoelectric alarm. This one's alarm is not so loud. It's good that I have both alarms in that both of them going off will confuse an intruder invader. I have had this alarm for about 6 months time and it seems to work fine. I finally went ahead paying for the subscription service online for a whole year and it was very inexpensive. Well worth the low cost .I also went ahead and integrated it with Amazon's Alexa and that also works fine as well. My biggest complaint is that the alarm going off is not very loud but in a way that's good as the possible intruder would probably smash it but since I have another much less expensive and much louder additional alarm he (or she) would probably just leave it alone. However I have many other security items to deter a burglar/trespasser/invader like home surveillance security cameras multiple barrier fences,barrier shrubs,U locks on my front gate, trip wires etc. I got around to making this review because the item is very satisfactory and worthwhile and also additionally low in cost and effective. I can see that expansion with more sensors is possible too so that's another plus. Some may choose not to pay for the subscription service but it seems well worth it for the low price. I didn't get the motion sensors but I may later on and now their camera is also interesting me as a possible future purchase ... show more
