I looked at several alarm systems in this price range, and what helped me decide on this item was not having to incur a monthly cost with an alarm system. Truth be known, there is a small (think it was $5) monthly fee if you want text message alerts when you are not home, but I did not need/want that. Setup could have not been easier, as my kit had both the remotes and the FOB's pre-paired. I unbox, applied adhesive tape, and then deployed the sensors. The sensors work well and were easy to deploy. The base station/siren was also easy to setup. The biggest challenge was not seeing the switch on the base station, I though it was just decoration and not a switch. Once I figured that out, I was off to the races. The siren is loud, and I have it next to my bed as to wake me in the event I have a "visitor" after hours that was not expected. The FOB's make arming and disarming simple, and you can completely ignore the app if you don't want to use it, once deployed. So, my minor issues: I did not read the instructions, I just started to setup OOB. I struggled for about 5 minutes trying to turn on the base station/siren. Once I figured out the power switch, it was easy to do the rest. The app is good, but busy. You can find everything, but there are plenty of features. I found the screen to show the sensors, and they were all pre-paired. Same with everything else. I wish they numbered the sensors, such as renaming them to Sensor1, sensor2, etc. I still have to figure out which is which at some point, but not critical and I discovered a way to do this (more later on that). The app shows many, and I mean many, other sensors you can add, from a mailbox alert when you get mail, to water and temperature sensors to turn on a fan or AC if the temperature gets above a set temp. The issues I have is that I could not find any of these sensors on Amazon, or elsewhere. I wish the company, Tolvivio, had their own site so I could buy what is not on Amazon. The base station is bright, and I did not see any option to completely turn off the light. You can put it in "night light" mode and a dim red light replaces the bright white, but in the end I used duct tape to completely block out the light. Make sure you do not cover the speaker if you do this. End issues. I added some extra sensors, and this was easy and I did actually read the instructions for this step. Again, super simple. You can set a sensor to trigger even if the system is disarmed, and you can do this on 1 sensor at a time. So, to track down which sensor is which, you set the sensor to "alert when disarmed", then open the door, and you can figure out which is sensor #1, etc. So in the app, set a sensor to "triiger when disarmed, then go start to open doors. When the alarm goes off, you know that sensor is the one you changed in the app. Now rename that sensor to "sensor #1", and then change the setting back to default, Repeat for the rest of your sensors. ... show more

I wasn’t sure how well the door/window sensors would work with wifi because the distance from some of the sensors are pretty far from the base of the system. Not only was it no problem with wifi connection, it was so easy to install. It comes with two remote fobs which is necessary because there are two adults and we each needed one. Lastly, the alarm is very loud. We always have fans running and sometimes the tv is on but we can still hear it loud and clear. This was our main reason why we got the product. Our Ring devices are great but at night we are deep sleepers and can’t hear the alert even when our phones are at maximum volume. We are just so pleased and usually I don’t leave reviews but I couldn’t resist so others who are considering it would hear an honest review. ... show more

This home security system by Toliviviov is much more capable then you'd have thought coming from a brand that no one has really ever heard of. Now that's not a detraction rather a compliment. I've been without a home security system for a while. I had been using Piper, a stand alone one piece home security system that you set up and is self contained. But it eventually died and the Piper company through mergers and such has seemingly gone out of business; you can't even find them listed on Amazon anymore. So I've done without until some family friends asked for my help in home security. Researching and purchasing for them was the imputes I needed to look for myself and I came to the conculusion that there are a lot of DIY systems out there running the gambit from cheap to expensive, but you're seemingly paying for the same sensors and the app each uses does largely the same thing. Surprisingly the Tolviviov is surprisingly robust and capable. It came boxed securely and quickly, the sensors were easily paired and I had the system up and running in almost no time. I've since looked into getting water/leak sensors cause you really have no excuse for inexpensive sensors to alert you to a leak or a busted hose/pipe before water damage can occur. I've quickly expanded to fourteen sensors and you can have a total of twenty as listed. The Tolviviov people were quick to respond when I asked a question. The only negative thing I have to say is that the listing that I purchased had a motion detector and a stand alone battery powered keypad. However what I actually received contained additional door/window sensors and not the motion detector or keypad. I can only assume a substitution was made(?) but I'm not really worried about it as the motion detector is only twelve dollars plus shipping should you wish to purchase it and also I can easily use the included remote and the app to control the system, the keypad was just going to be back up. But I would've wished for both of them to be included as described. The only pressing concern I do have is that the ring on the base unit is only partially illuminated... I had thought it was some kind of battery charge indicator as the base unit has a battery back up, but it is in four segments and one segment is fully lit and the other three are only partially lit. I'm not sure if something's going on or I'm not doing some part of the set up (reference pic)... But the home security system from Tolviviov is available under a few different names, but you can't seem to go wrong with purchasing it. You should think about when considering it as a purchase, what are you really buying? I mean there's nothing wrong with buying a name brand system from the likes of Nest, Ring, Eufy, ADT or Simply Safe. But the door/window sensors are largely the same, there's only so many ways to make a microchip sense a magnet and put a battery on it after all. What you're really paying for is the name on the system and what you hope is a capable app. If you don't mind buying generic, so long as it has a capable app which this does, you can secure your property and save a bundle... ... show more
