I find these incredibly useful in holding bits of wood in place while drilling or sanding or gluing. And for holding a straight edge in place while cutting. Bought knowing the problem with pads coming off. Other than that, perfect for my needs. Drilling a small hole each side and inserting a 3/8" screw solved that permanently. The pads still swivel and hold positions better. $2 for screws and 10 min after arrival, done. Good to go.
