Follow the directions and soak your feet for at least 15 minutes to soften the toenails. I have used all but one of the tools in this kit so far. They cut my thick nails like paper but will nip your skin if you aren't careful. They have a good feel in your hand and are easy to use. The files are rougher than any other I have used and the ingrown toenail tools work well. I have not had any breakage of the tools as mentioned in a couple of prior reviews and soaking your feet first makes the nail soft and not a lot of pressure on the tool is needed to make a cut. I never knew they made kids for toenail trimmers like this. I didn't like the bigger trimmer. I've just had better ones in the past. The rest of the kit is really useful, though. I've had ingrown toenail surgery on both sides, and it worked well, but my toenails tend to come in thicker. So it has always been difficult to find clippers that can actually cut them. These work great and I no longer have problems with messing up and causing my toenail to go ingrown. Would highly recommend it. ... show more
