This is very small and light weight unit for my small Shorkie and he doesn't try to get it off. Unlike regular shock colars I purchased this because it's more versitile. I like having a "ding dong" function and use it in training to let him know he did well and this is reinforced with a treat. The vibration mode I use to "warn him" to stop doing what he's doing, and it simply gets his attention. The shock is used like the spankings my daddy used to give. I like the different levels of intensity and it really gets his attention and he stops doing whatever it was I didn't want him to do. Yes, I hate to "shock" my little pup, but I tried it on my arm and on the highest setting it didn't really hurt but was strong enough it would have awakened me from a sound sleep. This price is very reasonable compared to other "shock only" colars and it also has a lock feature when you don't want to zap him by mistake. Nice little remote control is easy to use and allows quick responce on my part which is necessary in training and correction. All and all great product and I recommend it. ... show more

We have a miniature schnauzer so other training collars were too big. This one is the perfect size. I also really like that it has the rubber bumps rather than metal electrodes touching the dog's neck. We have been using the vibration on 20 and that catches her attention enough to stop chasing the cat. The electric shock feels pretty intense on my finger just at level 2 or 3 (out of 99?!). We would not use this feature on our dog. The only negative about the collar is that all of the buttons are close together on the remote so it could be easy to accidentally push the shock when you're going for the vibrate. The solution we found is that you can keep the shock set at 0 so if you accidentally push it, it won't do anything. Settings stay for each option (shock/vibrate/sound) even if you switch to another option. So you can always keep shock at 0 and vibrate at 20 (for example) and they will stay that way even if you switch back and forth between options. We haven't tried the sound because our dog is stubborn and wouldn't respond to it if we tried. ... show more

It’s great that it’s so small, fits very well with the included directions on how to fit and adjust. I have the shock in the lock off position as the pup doesn’t need it right how. She responded well to the vibrate mode and in the very first day her annoying nipping lessened a lot. Looking forward to the days ahead when I have a very well behaved dog. Thanks for this and the stress relief to know there are better day coming. Nothing was working…until now. ... show more
