I bought this on Amazon in January and it made my computer shut down in October. After troubleshooting by removing the Ram and running on 16GB, the computer works. I put my other 8GB (2x4) back in where the Timetec Ram came out and the computer works great again, only with 24GB instead of the 32GB I had wanted to have. I have tried to contact Timetec, but have not received any word back yet. This was a "Amazon's Choice" and it said "Free Returns". Other reviewers had the same issue with the memory failing after a short period (3 -6 months). I would stay away from Timetec as they sell poor components and customer service is non existent. ... show more

SO far so good. Got it today and installed in 5 minutes simply because my desktop had cables in the way. Have a Lenovo Ideacentre 300 series and went from 4gb to 8gb. So happy I did. It's like a whole new desktop! My item arrived in a padded envelope and the chips were sealed in a plastic case that held the 2 chips securely. The system picked it up without any issues. As soon as I got into windows, checked the system info and it said as it should...8gb physical installed, 7 gb available (systems reserves some in capacity for usage either due to windows or other settings). Always go and verify that the system picks up the full amount, otherwise you may have a defective chip or may simply have to swap out chip in the slot - why it works is beyond me but sometimes it works like that. If windows sys info doesn't pick it up, then go to your start up cmos/setup menu and check the RAM amount there to figure if it is a windows problem or confirmed hardware issue. Do yourself a favor, just get the matched upgrade kit rather than hoping that the existing chip is compatible with this one. It's a headache if it doesn't and at the price, it really shouldn't break the bank. I tried mixing chips before and even though only a quarter of the times they failed to be compatible, it was still a headache reordering another chip and waiting for the mail and opening the case again etc....just get the kit. I will update if it fails but for the time being, no news is good news. ... show more

I took an older Dell Optiplex 9010 desktop computer and upgraded it for some budget gaming. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, and a 4gb 1650 GPU and this 16gb Ram. This Ram was easy to install and instantly improved the speed and performance of my PC. Having this amount of Ram allowed me to get a budget GPU and still get the PC speed I needed for some higher quality games. My system, an Acer Aspire xc-605 only had 4 GB DDR3 since new 4 years ago. I was having issues with speed and reliability. These chips are DDR3L, so they run cooler with same DDR3 1.5 volts as they only require 1.35 volts. This was an awesome upgrade to 16 GB. My power supply was also making some racket, so after the speed increase with these the upgraded power supply helped increase my old weak one and got my whole system running at the correct voltages. I needed to breathe some new life into my 6 year old Dell Inspiron 3847 Desktop PC and these RAM sticks helped me do just that. It is getting hard to find RAM for these older computers so I was glad to find a few options on Amazon. Having been a PC technician and system builder in the past I was familiar with the Timetec brand and quality. That helped make my decision fairly easy. My system had slowed down quite a bit and fresh installs of the OS were no longer making enough of a difference. I didn't really have the money to spend on a new computer so I made the decision to do some housecleaning and upgrade some components. Maxing out the RAM from the installed 8GB to the max 16GB allowed by the system seemed like a good place to start. These RAM sticks were a simple, easy install. No issues, no worries. I was back up and running in under 10 minutes total from the time I unhooked the PC until I was back up and running to a working (and now speedy) desktop.     • Great RAM, but...

This RAM is honestly great for the price - it brought new life to my Dell Optiplex 990, and has greatly expanded its capabilities. I only read 1330MHz speeds from them, but I am lead to believe this is an issue with my PC rather than the RAM. The quality seems good, Made in the USA is a HUGE plus, and it just worked out of the box, no questions asked. Now the "but..." I ordered two of these kits, however only was available with prime so I bought one via Prime and one from them as a seller (still free shipping). However, what arrived was two DIFFERENT kits. Now, I was a little bit upset, but I found that they were the same TYPE of RAM, simply in different densities it would seem. One set had chips on both sides of the stick, while the other only had it on one side. If I had to guess, they probably were out of one and substituted it in to meet the deadline - which is great, it just would have been nice to have received an email or note explaining that. But I still give the overall review 4 Stars because the RAM is truly a 5 Star product, with one star withheld for the small confusion. This is definitely a buy, though. Seriously, for the price, this stuff is perfect. It's priced right, US made, and the company behind it seems to care about their products, AND it works! A rare combination. ... show more
