The memory does work, the late cues are a little on the high side, but still ok. Despite the listing of it having Hynix chips, and the barcode sticker on the box saying so, it does NOT have Hynix chips. The chips are marked "TT" and are of a different size to Hynix chips of which I have several 16gb kits to compare. Typhoon also does confirm the chips are not Hynix. So fraudulent/misleading listing/advertising. But DDR3-L doesn't heat up, so I think I can keep it for now. Memtest does not pass the memory when testing with load on all cores. Other, real Hynix (Crucial) memory passes in the same device. When testing in single core tests pass. Meets expectations does not exceed - 1 star taken off for the fraudulent advertising, 0.5 star taken off for the latencies, 1 star taken for the memtest multi core fails, total verdict 1.5 stars, will see how it fares over time ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this 8GB RAM to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 15 3542 3000 series laptop from a 4GB of RAM because applications was taking ages to load and applications would crash from time to time and sometimes it would not even work. So far, my laptop hasn't even crashed one bit. Opening, closing, and running applications is now 2x-3x much faster than it was before. It makes it even faster along with a brand new SSD to replace with my old HDD. My laptop now feels like it is brand new. Here is a video comparing my before and after upgrade. I was a little weary ordering this RAM since someone had commented they weren't real Hynix chips, and his picture did prove that. However, the RAM I received (didn't take a picture...yea I'm an idiot) did not look like the one that was posted in their review. It has the same color PCB, but the memory chips look exactly like my real Hynix chips I was replacing. The only difference was the model number, but the print, font, size, etc were all identical. I also do not have "TT" written anywhere on the chips themselves. I'm not going to bother running memtest on them, because the RAM is going into a Lenovo x230, and I don't really care if it is super stable or anything. I just needed more RAM for Google Chrome to be quite honest. lol ... show more

I used the Crucial system scan tool to ID the memory upgrade options for my HP 15-series notebook (model 15-ba009dx, purchased 2 yrs ago, with 4GB RAM, running Windows 10), and decided I would add an 8GB memory stick into my empty slot, which would upgrade me to 12GB RAM. I then found that TIMETEC had the best combination of low price and best company reviews for the particular type of the 8GB memory card I wanted. Although their website showed hundreds of laptop models compatible with their version of the memory stick, my laptop wasn’t listed so I sent an email to them (support@timetecinc.com) seeking confirmation. Just 3 hours later, they responded to confirm compatibility. I then immediately placed my order (using the free delivery option) and it was in my local Amazon Locker only 3 days later. Through watching an excellent YouTube instruction video, I learned I have to remove the battery, slide out the DVD player/recorder, and open the entire back of my laptop. I removed the many screws (incl. two hidden beneath the rubber foot pads) and used a butter knife to carefully pry open and unsnap the backpanel to expose the memory slot. After touching my sink faucet to ground myself (remove any static charge), I installed the new 8GB memory stick. This part of the process actually took only 10 seconds. Then I snapped the laptop backpanel into place, did the screws, and re-started the laptop. On the first boot-up, my “System Info” correctly showed I now had 12GB RAM, but some other things weren’t working right so I re-booted it again. This seemed to straighten it out, but just to be safe I did yet another reboot. I then used Task Manager for a couple hours to monitor what the laptop was doing. It seemed to be quietly going through a series of system reconfigurations (even did some auto-defragmentation), presumably to move things around to make better use of the expanded RAM memory resources. Once it had settled itself down I could see my $40 investment was money well spent. Prior to the RAM upgrade, my system was using at least 50% of my RAM even at rest, so I only had about 1.8GB of unused RAM to work with. This was slowing down my memory-intensive programs, such as the programs I use for editing music, or photos, or videos. But now my background RAM usage is down to 16% (CPU at 1%, DISK at 0%), and I have nearly 9GB of unused RAM available. My laptop is “faster”, especially when using those sort of software programs I mentioned. I should note that when I initially opened those programs after the RAM upgrade, they seemed to pause for a minute to adjust to the improved RAM situation (and maybe re-install Drivers or whatever), but once they made that initial adjustment, they operate MUCH more quickly than ever. The lag only happened once, the first time I opened them. The new TIMETEC memory card itself was performing flawlessly the entire time I am extremely happy with my purchase from TIMETEC (Nov. 28, 2018) Excellent PRICE… Excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE… Excellent SHIPPING… And excellent PRODUCT. ... show more

Positive: Price point, worked, would buy again Negative: NOT Hynix brand chips! (see photos). Included photos of the OEM Kingston SKHynix chips replaced so you can see the difference reported here and by other posts. Negative: Amazon did list computer. Go to www.TimeTecInc.com to comfirm compatibility. Amazon does NOT list Acer Aspire E5-771-58YD, but TimeTecInc.com does. Positive: Used IOBIT SPEECY freeware to display the installed RAM specs prior to ordering. (see photos) Did it work? Absolutely. Boot time improved by 20 secs. Objective Performance: Time for FULL SCAN of WIN10 v2404 using Advance System Care Pro v13.6 BEFORE (16:16.98 mins) AFTER (12:19.03 mins) Subjective Performance: Frustrating lags and freezing from two or more demanding apps has been eliminated. Overall Summary: Misleading listing. Cannot verify Hynix claim. Cost effective replacement to squeeze more life out of a 2015 laptop. Yes, I would buy again. Money saving tip: After short-term hard usage, it appears 16GB is too much and wasted on the Acer E5-771-58YD OEM 6GB (1x2Gb + 1x4Gb). With the new 16GB of RAM, now unable to consume over 50% memory! That means could have used a single 8GB module to replace the 2Gb. That would be a total of 12 GB. The rub is that would mix 5 yr old Kingston RAM with the the new TimeTec. Not sure if there are unexpected consequences, but the price per RAM is the same. I would probably start by ensuring the largest of the two modules is inserted in the RAM1 slot with the smaller in the RAM2 slot. It would save $27. You could always get the second TimeTec if the mix becomes problematic. ... show more
