I like trying new things and like experimenting with new ideas, I have used blade grinders and my large Bunn commercial burr grinder at home. I needed something smaller and easy to use to get the results I wanted, fast forward to this, I picked this up on a lightning deal at a very reasonable price. So into the basket it went, have now had it for a few days and have been using it for my French Press with great results, nice uniform grind, good size coffee grounds and easy to use and clean...I think that it should grind fine enough for expresso, will try that in the next few days and see how the coffee comes out....so at this point I am happy with my purchase. I use this daily for making a cup of coffee. It holds 15g of coffee beans without an issue and takes only a few seconds to grind for a fresh cup. I took off a star for ease of cleaning because it requires disassembly to fully clean and there are some pieces that are difficult to reach even with the included brush. Grind is incredibly consistent wether fine/espresso or larger for French press. Grind is also complete, no bits left to grind. Capacity is perfect for small batches. Go larger size for full pot capacity.

I am coming to manual grinders from good burr electric grinders, but am not at the James Hoffman level of skill or perhaps even taste! The Timemore C2S arrived quickly, was well packaged, and complete. It feels substantial in use, grinds smoothly, and (on a 2nd try) made a great cup of French Press dark roast coffee. But I'm still not feeling confident about the grind setting. The instructions seem to refer to "adjustment dial" and "dial" several times, but are not at all clear about what you're doing when you move the dials and when the incised pointer moves. So I'm gauging my grinds basically by sight, and how the coffee resulting from brewing them, tastes. (First try I ground very fine- probably an espresso setting - and that coffee really kept me up all night!). I'm hoping to be able to develop some insight and adjust the grind more intelligently, but so far, even some diligent YT searching hasn't helped me understand the settings. Dark roast also generated a lot of static charged mess on the grinder, which I haven't tried to clean using the included brush. Overall, though, this seems like it is a serviceable and attractive tool for my home coffee making. ... show more

This was my official burr grinder upgrade after many sad years with an electric blade grinder. I primarily brew pourovers and I’m able to get a good and consistent grind with enough steps to be able to easily tweak my grind size to whichever bean I’m using that day. The chamber doesn’t hold more than (roughly) 20g of beans, so if you do larger coffee amounts you’ll either want to look at a larger grinder or do it in batches, but it’s great for my use which is single cups of pourover coffee. It definitely takes some elbow grease to grind, but it’s fairly quick, and usually I’m done grinding by the time my kettle has come up to boiling. All in all, I’m really happy with this as a beginner burr grinder. It comes with a nice velvet pouch for travel/storage as well as a stiff brush to get in there and clean any fines out of the burrs. ... show more

Nicely constructed. Let's you get the optimal grind. I can see that some of the powder coating paint will come off, it has at the edges, but does not affect function at all.
