having purchased the Shardor coffee bean grinder in february of this year i have used it daily for my morning cup of coffee, until this thanksgiving morning when it feebly tried to grind the morning beans, unsuccessfully. i contacted support@shardor1.com & within hours i received a response asking the particulars of my issue. our correspondence over the course of three days, led to the resolution of my issue & i received a new grinder today. thank you martine. i found the Shardor grinder quieter than two competitor's grinders i've had. the removable grinding chamber allows me to bring the grounds over to my chemex & the depth of the chamber allows more beans than previous grinders, which i appreciate. the timing knob is icing on the cake. ... show more

Used this as my daily coffee grinder and it broke after 8 months. It would not turn on consistently, and when it did, it ran until I manually stopped it rendering the grind settings useless. Now, it rarely turns on. Maybe good for spices but trash for coffee. Throwing away. Invest a little more in a proper burr grinder. ... show more

    • Really Really Quiet
My first test grind was with whole coffee beans. I set the time for 20 seconds (the 2/3 position), and it ground the coffee almost to expresso powder. For my needs, I'll need to dial in the correct number of seconds for the grind I want, but as a grinder this works great. Possibly more impressive was how quiet it was. My previous experience has been with Krups and Magic Bullet. Both grind coffee really well, but they are very noisy. This grinder was probably half as noisy. The quality appears very good. The plastic cup is substantial and fits well. The grinding cup with the blade is stainless steel, very substantial and locks in place with ease. It took a bit to dial in for expresso, but I finally found the spot for the machine I use! Works great on regular drip coffee! There is only one draw back on this grinder, if you plan to grind a whole bag of coffee beans beware the motor does get hot after three uses! This part of the instructions! I got my first burr grinder when my kids gave me a Gaggia espresso machine and the grinder on my 60th birthday - 17 years ago! Grinder finally died and I bought this Shardor. We followed the care instructions, but the grinder only lasted 14 months. Otherwise, it was clean, easy to clean, and I especially love the timer for consistency.

I loved this product mostly because it's not loud like other products, and it's easy to clean. I was so disappointed when the motor gave up in just 5 months 😡 =====UPDATE===== I am changing the star rating since the company sent me the replacement. I really like this product, and it is much better than other kinds I have tried. It was disappointing that the first unit didn't last, but that could happen to any product. (If that happens again with this product, then that will be a different story, like Samson—for some reason, Samson breaks down on me every time! Never another Samson for me.) ... show more
