  • Sturdy, great ankle support
Size: 10 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
Bought these for a trip to Montana. Took them on a short break-in hike before going. They are great! A little heavy, but very sturdy. I would say classic Timberland. Waterproof. Excellent ankle support for rocky, root paths.

  • Well made, comfortable, waterproof.
I am a male with a narrow (9 B) foot. I bought the size 11 women's Chocorua Trail boot and they fit just the way I wanted. They have enough room for a thick pair of wool socks in winter. In summer, I put an extra neoprene insole under the standard insole and wear regular cotton socks. I just wore these for some day hiking in Colorado's Front Range, in mixed muddy, slushy, snowy conditions. They gave good support, were light and comfortable, and stayed dry. I have stood in a flowing creek up to my laces, and not felt any water in the boot. There was no break in period, no hotspots, no blisters. The sole is multi purpose, so on some of the mixed snow/ice sections, I would have liked a bit more aggressive sole, but in most circumstances, they were just fine. the top two eyelets are speed hooks. The tongue is a bit shorter than I like, so the laces will sometimes slide over the top and against my ankle. This is true for many brands of boots. I recommend lacing into the top hooks from top to bottom, so the laces tie well below the top of the tongue and stay put. ... show more

  • Solid Boot
Size: 7 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I think these are a great looking hiking boot the do all the things hiking boots are supposed to do. Comfortable fit, sturdy, and completely waterproof (I tested this on a waterfall hike). I also think they were reasonably priced.

  • Reliable and comfortable
Size: 9 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
This is my second pair, I really love these boots! They are absolutely comfortable, sturdy and reliable on the trails. They last for a very long time, I bought this new pair after having used the first one for many years.

  • Best working shoes I have ever had.
I honestly love these shoes. I wear them for farm work on rain, mud, or dry soil for about 8.5 hours a day. After the sixth hour my feet start hurting. It has somewhat wide toe which fits perfectly my foot and still allows for think socks. The thing has been water resistant and keeping my toes dry, cannot say waterproof because I have not tried them yet in heavy downpour. First time I ordered Amazon send me a pair of used shoes and I almost cried, but they replaced them for new ones free of charge thanks lord. The color is super attractive, they break in right the way. I have used them for farm work for two months five days a week, they are looking almost new and the sole feels good. I would have liked a little bit more arch support. I took them hiking once on moderately steep terrain and they preformed beautifully, hiked for two hours and no pain, great stability, had to adjust the ties once though which I am not used to. In a normal working day I would adjust the ties at least four times. Also hit them a couple of times with a very sharp farming knife and only scrapped the toe part, did not cut through which was AWESOME (for my toes). I have a couple of screws in one ankle which makes it painful almost any ankle high shoe, but these shoes hug jut right that my ankle is not painful for about four hours straight of work. ... show more

  • Not clunky
Size: 10 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I wanted a waterproof boot that can hold up to hikes through wet areas and brush. Definitely lives up to its waterproof claim, but was surprisingly lighter and less restrictive feeling than most boots of this kind. Well balanced and didn’t feel clunky on my feet when I walked. Also, did not run narrow like some of the other boots I tried. ... show more

  • These boots are better than I could have imagined!
After trying on nearly 15 pairs of hiking boots, I decided to purchase this pair. In regular shoes I am a 7.5, but in hiking boots I go for an 8 wide. I bought them for hiking, but I’m finding myself using them almost daily for everyday tasks...walking the dog, frisbee golf, or just when it’s raining and I want a dry foot. I’ve put probably 30 miles on them so far in dry, wet, muddy, and rocky conditions, and even walked through streams and marshes, and have come out with dry and painless feet each time. Technically they are only waterproof about halfway up the boot, but as long as they’re laced properly, I’ve quickly hopped through water up to the ankle and remained dry. They are incredibly comfy, although I will purchase an insole to give the ball of my foot a little more cushion for longer hikes. The boots breath very well when paired with a good sock, and my feet stay comfortably dry and cool. My only complaint if you could call it that is the leather on the toe box is very impressionable. When I was trying them on I did some lunges to test flexibility and where they bent left very sharp creases in the leather that made the boots appear to be very worn in right from the start. The cheaper timberlands I tried on did not do this. It might be a good thing because I could break them in very quickly, but I kind of expect a new boot to look new for more than ten minutes. Overall, I’m incredibly satisfied with this boot. ... show more

  • Shoes fell apart, soles delaminated.
Size: 8.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I bought these shoes for my wife on our big adventure to South America. I bought them in November and she wore them on a few day hikes in Colorado to break them in. I thought they were amazing for $100 - they fit her feet well, were lightweight and comfy. She was excited to bring these as her main shoes. Our first adventure was in Chile in the first week of January and it was a 5 day hike, she carried a 30 pound pack. On the second day she noticed that her foot felt wet when we walked through a creek, so I looked at the soles and the rubber tread was literally falling off the bottom of her shoes. The tread was not worn out, just tearing and falling off in chunks. I was extremely disappointed. I thought they would have lasted - they SHOULD have lasted at least a few months!! When I noticed them falling apart, it just got worse very quickly until 48 hours later the entire tread delaminated. We had to shorten our backpacking trip and hiked 40 miles out in broken shoes which gave her blisters and extremely sore feet. By the end the leather of the boot was even separating from the cushiony foam part. I would not recommend this product - Timberland claims it is a trail boot but it is basically a running shoe glued (very poorly) to some nice leather - a city boot. I have pictures to prove they do not hold up on the trail, and now they are resting in a landfill somewhere in Chile. ... show more
