i got this in a size 7 and i’m usually a 71/2 so i’d go down about half a size. the shoes fit well there just really irritating on the leg and i got a blister on the top of my foot. but overall it’s a nice look and like them

I am in LOVE with these boots. For years I've never even considered purchasing these because I thought they'd be clunky and would make my feet look enormous. Never have I been so wrong about something. After destroying my Uggs in the rain and snow and getting tired of wearing my unfashionable Merrell hiking shoes (I own a short sneaker like pair and a tall more substantial tall boot), I knew I needed to find something else and quick. I live in Boston and with the New England winter coming up, I finally gave in and took a chance ordering these boots. I am so, so, so glad I did. Fit: Reading all the reviews saying to size down a half or whole size, I decided to go with a 7.5 instead of my normal 8. They fit great and there's plenty of room for lightweight and medium weight socks. It's still possible to wear an extra thick sock even if it is a bit of a snug fit. I rarely wear super thick socks though so I don't think it will be a problem. The 8 would have been too roomy wearing regular or medium weight socks. During warmer times of the year when I want to wear these, I'd like them to fit well wearing thin socks which would be a problem with my regular size 8. Another plus of having to size down is my feet actually look smaller than they do in any other kind of shoe in my regular size even though they're that big work boot style which usually makes your feet look larger. Crazy! Love it. Style: These boots are surprisingly attractive and fashionable. I've tried wearing them with the laces done up all the way as well as only halfway with the tongue sticking out a little. I think both ways are great, but I really love the partly unlaced look and there's no issue with them slipping off because of the high ankle. They look good with skinny jeans tucked in, but I almost always wear socks over my skinny jeans and I like that look even better with these boots. I scrunch them down if they're knee high socks and it's really cute. Look great with both fashion and active wear leggings. I can't believe I've survived without these boots for so long. I wish I would've bought them years ago! Don't make my mistake. These are a must-have for everyone. *Note: I tried the Teddy Fleece Fold Down boots along with these because I am new to the Timberland brand and wasn't sure what I really wanted. The Teddy style was kind of weird to me. They are a lighter color although both are called "wheat." I liked the look of the original Timbs better with the black in the back. I think they need a break of color and the Teddy didn't have that. They also made my feet look huge which I was trying to avoid (and did with the original boot). So if you are trying to decide between those two styles like I was, I would recommend the original 6". That's my personal preference, but I think you really can't go wrong with them because they're a style that's been around for ages. ... show more

They didn’t even come in a box, just plastic wrapping which was odd. I’m not sure if they’re real. Will be using these for work so I’ll see how they hold up after a few wears.

This product is really good. The fit was perfect and it's really comfortable. I haven't purchased Timberland boots in over 10yrs but I bought them to attend an event and there was a certain look I was going for. It came out perfect and the delivery was QUICK !

When I first got these boots, I absolutely adored them. To be honest, I still really like the style of them. I've formed an attachment, and as they are so expensive, I kind of have had to just accept that they will be my absurdly expensive around-the-yard and in-town boots. Unfortunately, I got them to be a sturdy boot that I could use for outdoor work and hiking. I got a half-size down as was recommended in many reviews, and while snug, I could get my feet into them...of course this required me unlacing them half the way every time I wanted to put them on. I eventually started only lacing them up to the 2nd to top just so I could get them on a bit faster. They did hurt my feet a bit when I first got them, but I knew that was because they weren't broken in yet. After a week or so, I was hiking in them for a couple hours every few days. The real horror began once my husband and I got to Ecuador. We are currently spending 2.5 months travelling throughout South America, and we planned on doing A LOT of hiking. A week into our trip, we attempted (but did not finish) the infamous Quilotoa loop. 3 days of long and pretty challenging hikes through the Andes from small town to small town. It was an ideal adventure for avid campers/hikers without a tent. However, on our first day of hiking, my boots began to hurt my feet so bad, I was in tears only 4 hours into our 8 hour trek. When we finally made it to our hostel that night, my entire right ankle (this foot is a bit larger) was raw and bloody. The left ankle was pretty bad too, but not quite as horrible. Because of this, we couldn't even think of attempting the next day's hike, and instead had to take a cab to the final destination. Once we got there, I slapped some bandaids on my aching ankles and sucked it up to hike down to the lake. I mean, the entire hike was about this, how could I miss it? Unfortunately, this started me limping funny in my boots, rubbing on the side of my right foot more than where it was already injured. Two days later, it became noticeable that the area that had been rubbing more as I avoided further injury, was swelling. Giant, subcutaneous abscesses formed, and within a few days, they were debilitating. I couldn't walk at all. Being in the Galapagos Islands now, this wasn't exactly an option. I popped pills and stayed in my comfy sandals until finally I couldn't even stand up. Without a proper hospital near, I ended up sterilizing a pin and lancing it myself, finding an abscess nearly half an inch deep. I'll spare you the gorey details, but it took days of repeated draining, and the skin on my ankle still hasn't fully grown back, a month later. Now we're in the Peruvian Andes, in Huaraz, a town known for it's great hikes to stunning glacier lakes...and within just 3 hours of our first hike, I already had nasty blisters that popped and rubbed before we got back to our hotel. This morning we had to entirely call off our hike because it hurts so bad, and it wears on my ankles whether I wear thin socks or thick ones or whether I wrap/bandage the ankle. So now I am going to buy some cheap shoes in Peru so that I don't have to miss Macchu Picchu, although most of our other significant hikes have already been ruined. All the while, I will be lugging around these useless, beautiful boots, which I probably will never wear if I need to do anymore walking than around a supermarket. Pretty disappointing experience overall, wish I could say differently, but I can't. These shoes do not hold up to the test of time when it comes to hiking or walking, so unless you're looking to spend a ridiculous amount on leather boots to wear around town, don't even bother. ... show more
