  • For regular timberland classic boots I had to go down 1 full size to get a good fit without my heel slipping and excessive room
Size: 10 Color: Brown
Timberland sizing is always a mystery to me. Depends on the type of boots you buy from them, sizing are all over the map. For regular timberland classic boots I had to go down 1 full size to get a good fit without my heel slipping and excessive room in the toe box. That's what I was planning to go with before I bought this steel toe boot, thank god I read the reviews on them. 1. Sizing: For this boot, you really want to go to your normal true size. Now, everyone has a different opinion on what their true size is, the way I determined mine was that there is no heel slippage, and I have enough room in the toe box that my toes are not right up against the end of toe box. For most Nike/Adidas/Jordans, I am a size 10, and they typically fit me just as I described above. For this pair of timberland, I went with a size 10 with normal width. The fit was good, but not perfect. Due to the steel toe, the toe box are narrower, and shorter then typical Timberland, and since it's a work boot, the insole seems to be thicker and provide better support than regular Timberlands (i'm comparing it to Timberland classic 6 inch boot). All that translate to a smaller fit when compare to a Timberland classic 6 inch boot. So when I went true to size, it felt good. Only complain is that the heel of the boot is wider so I do have some heel slippage, but this was easily remedied by thicker socks or socks with heel padding. 2. comfort: I bought this mainly to work in a laboratory condition where there are heavy machinery, so I don't walk in them all day long. However, I did notice that the support was excellent and my feet ain't tired at end of the day despite the fact that this pair of boots is HEAVY! 3. lacing: I like to provide some comment on lacing. It's hard to to tie this pair of boot up "snug." What I do I mean by snug? Well, typically when I lace up a boot, I like to make sure I felt a little bit of pressure from lacing it up from the top of my foot up to where I tie a knot. However, because of the steel toe and it being a very stiff boot, I can hardly feel any pressure on top of my foot when I lace it up. But since my foot isn't moving around in the boot, I was ok with it. You can lace the top of the boot tight once you get past your ankle though, the top of the boots does have more give to them where you can lace it up tight if needed. 4. Overall: Great boot, on the heavy side, but provided great support. Durability review will come later. ... show more

  • Great boots!
Size: 13 Color: Brown
Excellent boots. I have had them for a year now and they are still in excellent condition. I am a truck driver for a tree company. What I mean is that I have given them a lot of use and I can say that they are the best boots I have ever bought. I recommend them. They are very durable and very good in general. ... show more

  • Do Not Make The Same Mistake I Did!
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black
I got a job working in a plant in August of 2014 so obviously I needed a pair of steel toe shoes which were mandatory. I did not have much money so I made an amateur move and purchased some steel toe Die Hard shoes from Kmart. I will not go into deep detail about the Die Hard's, but I will say that I found myself buying a new pair of the same Die Hard shoes and replacing them around every three months and they were around $29.99 a pair. My Timberland PRO Men's Pitboss 6" Steel Toes did not come in until November 2015 so if you do the math, that is right, I owned 5, yes, FIVE, pair of Die Hard steel toe shoes (sometimes even doubling up) within a year and three months time so I dished out about $150.00 on those shoes altogether. So those shoes were not meant to hold up walking 8 - 12 hours on concrete for 40 hours a week. I finally decided I was tired of buying new steel toe shoes every three months and spending that type of money so I decided to do some research and came past this product and the difference is night and day. This is my sixth month owning these steel toe boots and they are still holding together great. I have absolutely no complaints. After breaking them in they are a lifesaver. As I said, this is my sixth month owning this boot and it is still holding together nicely. I really like the way these boots lace up to the top of the ankles. It makes for a very good tight fit and you rarely have to worry about retying your shoe during your job. I like how tough they are. It has been six months and by now I would have spent $60.00 on the Die Hard steel toes because they would have been worn out, ripping apart, and the steel for the toes being exposed or even popping out. These boots they are still intact, a few scratches, but nothing to complain about it is what comes with the territory. These boots are comfortable. When I was wearing my Die Hard steel toes I would come home every day and my feet would be in serious pain and be very sensitive. Now these boots do not take away the pain of walking around on concrete for 40 hours a week, but they do well absorbing the shock of walking and giving protection for your feet. The break in period did not take long at all so you will not have to worry about that. I have only one negative feedback and that is the color on the boot seemed very faded and made me question whether I received a knockoff or a already worn pair, but nothing that takes away from the quality of the product. Also I would like to suggest that if you do buy a pair of these boots that you own some socks that go up mid-knee because wearing ankle socks the material of the boot will irritate the Achilles. Do not be like me. Go out there and get yourself a good pair of work boots. You will save yourself a lot of money, time, and frustration in the process. Besides the faded color of the boots upon receiving there are not any real complaints I can come up with about this product. This is truly a top of the class work boot fit to do long hours of hard labor. I cannot really say I love these boots the only way that would happen is if it took away the pain from my feet entirely, but I will give credit when its due and say that it has help reduce the pain significantly. I hope this review helped. If you were on the fence about buying these, trust me, do it, you will not be disappointed. I would also like to give Amazon's 3D virtual fit measurements a quick mention. I was very skeptical, but the boots ended up fitting just fine. ... show more
