This product has alot of good accessories and the design is good as well. The lack of a user's manual is a problem. Our newest employee used the product and installed it wrong and ended up warping the frame. We repaired it . Our other technicians have no problems. Our newest technician had experience in removing valves with old school techniques. Basic manuals would be a good idea. ... show more

Don't have high expectations on this. Contrary to the sturdy design they cite, the opposing ends do not line up with each other. Ended up using a piece of wood on the valve head side with some bar clamps to hold it on. Stuffed some used nitrile gloves underneath to hold the valve in place when depressing the spring. The pieces are poorly threaded and tend to wobble around or 'walk' when turning.. Takes a lot of patience to hold things in place and depress the springs without causing damage.. The small piece to tighten the screw is useless as it just drops out and I used a smalls screwdriver instead. Probably the only thing that may make this better than the other junk in the same price range is the valve stem seal removal tool that is included as that was indeed handy... So far I have the valves out and have not yet tried to install the new ones yet.. Used it on a jetta 2.0 AEG engine. This is not a tool for someone who frequently does this type of work. ... show more

While this may be one of those tools you only use a few times, it's definitely a time saver. I just rebuilt a Ford 8N tractor motor and this fit the valve springs perfectly. Now I won't have to worry about going to rent a tool from the store and take a chance on them being out of stock or me forgetting to return it in a timely fashion.
