I have already been using some Tile devices for my wallet and backpack. I like that I can set them up to alert me if I've left something important at home. This has helped when I accidentally started to go to work without my wallet. However, I had mixed results with 2 devices on a recent trip overseas. I put one of these on my keychain and left my car keys with my mother. I got strange notifications that my keys were pinging in the town next to where my mom lives. Since I was overseas, I was worried that my car had been stolen. I messaged my mother and she said that was odd as they keys were still hanging up where I had left them. We looked up the reason and it has to do with how close other Tile users are. I thought that was a bit strange that my keys would be showing as moving to another town every night but I am assuming that since it's not a big city, that's why there's not as many Tile users. However, the other Tile that I had with me in my suitcase ended up being amazing. The airline lost my suitcase and as I boarded the plane, I got a notification that I left it behind. I assumed it was being loaded but then I looked at the map and it showed that it went to customs and never left. I will say that I loved being able to see exactly where my luggage was even though I was stressed that it wasn't on the plane with me. When I arrived in the US, I checked with the airline and they confirmed that it never made it on the plane. I showed them my Tile app and how it looked like customs had my bag. That helped me make a claim and the airline employee was able to use that information to track down my bag and had it delivered to my house a few days later. I'm glad I have these devices but I'm hoping that they become more accurate in the future like the competitor with the fruit as their company logo.
