The colors on this bowl are beautiful. I bought the turquoise one, but I can only imagine that the other colors are just as vibrant. It was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but for the price, combined with the free prayer flags, you can't beat this deal with a stick--- or a singing bowl mallet! The paper wrapped around the bowl itself was a bit yellowed and smelled a bit musty when I pulled it off, but thankfully the bowl itself wasn't damaged and the mallet wasn't moldy. The prayer flags were already a bit frayed when I took them out, but I assume that they naturally fray over time, since they're made to degrade. I've never had any Tibetan prayer flags, though, so I could be wrong. They also tend to roll back up into cylinders since they were rolled into one thick cylinder in the box for ease of shipping, but I imagine that the wind and such will naturally unfurl them over time. Overall, a lovely purchase. I gave it to my mom, as I have another singing bowl--- actually I ordered this around Christmas, so I was worried it had gotten lost in the mail for a while and bought another bowl at Earthbound just in case, and while that one was lovely, this one from Namaste Craft/Thamelmart is just stunning. My mom loved it, and we hung the prayer flags together just outside our door on the eave of our roof. ... show more

I absolutely love this! Sings very beautifully. I use it to clear energies before I do tarot reading. Great size for small places, seeing I live in an RV. This is very giftable. I see some of the other reviews said minor defects in the paint. I looked there are no defects at all. I love the sound quality you just need to learn the technique to really make her sing. It arrived on time and in very good condition. The only gripe I may have is that the tassels on the pillow are tied half-way down the length of string. Easily correctable. It took me only 1 hour to learn how to make it sing properly. It gives a rich, beautiful tone that permeates the air and you can feel the vibrations flowing through your body to heal you. I do have one question, though. What does the painted inscription around the bowl, say? I know it's Tibetan, and Google has a Tibetan language plug-in, but I don't think I'd know how to enter Tibetan characters into a western keyboard. Even with the alt, ctrl, and function buttons. I had this on my wishlist for quite awhile but was hesitant to get it based on all the bad reviews I'd seen. However, recently, I'd seen some good reviews and thought I'd try my luck. Well, I happened to luck out, and I'm SO happy to have gotten this item. It looks pretty perfect to me AND makes a really nice sound. I'm looking forward to using it in my yoga and meditation classes and workshops, as well as at campouts, gatherings, and events, and even my own personal practice. This is a beautiful little bowl. Much smaller than I had anticipated. When you strike the rim it makes a pleasant ring. However it is too small or too thick to sing...the sound only resonates for a very few seconds. The larger bowls sing much longer and louder.
