  • Better quality than I expected
I think this might just be the best quality machine you can get for the price. Unit comes in one big (and heavy) crate. Luckily, once you open it, every piece can be moved by one person - in my case, down to our basement gym. Instructions say you need two people to assemble. I can assure you I was the only person involved in the assembly; zero need for a second person. Save yourself time and break out the 1/4" cordless impact as doing these all by hand will take forever, as there are a lot of bolts. I had no missing parts. I think one rear upright had a scratch on it; nothing I'm concerned with and if I did care, some touch-up paint would mostly hide it. People always want the complaints, so here are mine: - The instructions are awful. Too many items on one page. Diagrams where you need to do a bunch of things on each side that are the same, but half of them are on one side of the picture and half on the other, so you have to figure out the whole picture. Because so many items are on one picture, you won't necessarily figure out the order of operations and end up having to disassemble something because you had the order wrong. This thing will take several hours to put together - I could have trimmed 1 - 1.5 hours with better instructions. - The racking attachments for the bench bar sucks. It is too close to the uprights so you have to be perfect to get your bar back in place, which is the last thing you want to deal with when finishing a chest press set and are out of steam. I will be replacing these with something better. - The back panel that shows exercises is pretty useless. I'll probably end up putting a whiteboard or something else on that to track workouts, which would actually be useful. - As a relative newbie to working out with a machine, they don't document anything on actually using the machine. Go to the Atlas website for the 3059, dig around and you can get a couple of videos on the different things it can do. - I wish the machine was a bit taller. Mind you, nothing in this price range is taller, and many users wouldn't want it taller, as they are either shorter than me (6'3") or don't have the ceiling height to accommodate a taller unit like I do. But the next tallest units were significantly more expensive for only a couple of extra inches, so it wasn't worth the price difference. The good: - Tons of exercises you can do with this - The build quality is really good. No forcing parts together. Most of the items feel pretty high quality, and those that feel average are accessories that can be easily replaced. The core machine is a solid, heavy-duty piece. Pulley action is smooth. The unit even looks good. - Plenty of free-weight storage I'd recommend anyone looking at one of these to consider this unit. ... show more

  • Awesome Machine for the price
The Machine is great for the price point. The cables run fairly smooth and the machine is easy to transition between workouts. When installing this, install the cables and weights for the smith machine before before you put the entire machine together or else you may have to disassemble to put the weights in the support structure if you don't have enough overhead room. The instructions are a bit of a pain in the ass to follow but you can make it through, it took me about 6.5 hours to put together, but i was having a few whiskeys while i was doing it so do what you want with that info lol. I was under the impression this came with a bench based on the pictures but it does not. If you plan on using the Smith Machine alot and are a bigger guy it may be a little tight for you. (Im 6'1 230lbs and its pretty tight but doable for me.) Other than that no complaints, just make sure all of the cables are where they are supposed to be and arent rubbing on any bolts or the wholes they pass through. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Terrible instructions
The instructions are just an exploded view of the equipment. I’m a general contractor who reads blueprints all the time, this is garbage. The quality of the equipment is fine but avoid the headaches and wasted time on this. I had them send me an instructional video and it was terrible . Seriously get something else, atlas company sucks. ... show more

  • Quality home gym
Nice quality works well. A little difficult to assemble took three days about five hours per day. To adjust the cable tension the chain-link on the back can be adjusted. Makes for a nice home gym. In the garage or first floor. Too heavy for second floor. The Olympic bar fits tight edge to edge not a lot of extra space with the Jay hooks. Maybe I have a short Olympic bar?? Cables, runs smooth. I keep mine with tight tension on the third link of chain in the back to keep from slipping . Counter balance works good on smith. I bought extra attachments. From different seller, jammer arms and leg extension and curls. ... show more

  • Commercial Graded Machine
Great commercial graded machine. The pulleys and smith machine are very smooth. This was a great investment and worth every penny. No longer need gym membership.

  • The customer service is amazing
The customer service is amazing, had a few issues in understanding the manual while putting the machine together. I contacted the customer service they were amazing in getting in touch, send me videos on how to put things together and also for identifying the pieces. Also was mixing cable, they were kind enough to send the set of cables using expedited shipping. so far I am loving the machine, will keep posting as it goes. ... show more

  • Outstanding
Outstanding piece of equipment. It is smooth, and easy to use. I know it is a big investment but I like to “buy once, cry once” I truly believe I will have this machine the rest of my life even with daily usage. When it came to assembly I am a very handy/technical person. This rack took about six hours to assemble in its entirety. I did use a 12v impact to tighten all the bolts and that saved a ton of time. It can be daunting when you open it up and look at a ton of parts, but instructions were clear and pretty easy to follow. ... show more
