The media could not be loaded. As you can see in my video and photos the 6000yd maxi-lock spools actually do fit comfortably on the first two rows, but the top row is mostly resting on the second row. This means you can’t fit a third row of 6000 yd spools without skipping one. Most of my spools are 3000 yd, though, and this seems to be made perfectly for that size. I can actually fit the 3000yd spools immediately below the 6000yd spools without skipping a row, so if you have 11 6000 yd spools and the rest 3000yd spools you will get 100% utilization. The spindles are too large for class 15 A style bobbins. ID of my bobbin is about 6mm and the spindle is about 7mm. It doesn’t have hangers but I was able to hang it by unscrewing the legs a tiny bit and hanging on the existing screws. These smaller Gütermann spools fit fine too. One spindle popped out of its hole and it didn’t come with replacements, but it went right back in. The glue must have been a little loose and it actually arrived still smelling like wood glue. I’m not really worried about this because the angle (about 45 degrees) is fine and the spindles all fit snugly on mine. ... show more

I purchased this rack after having one that only held 60 or so spools. I found that I needed to have one larger. I am using this one and it is working great. I have it almost filled it and this seems to be nice and sturdy. I like how this can hold so many spools that it allows me to sort the colors and be a little more organized to get the job done faster. I have had to in the past go and search out a color that would not fit on the smaller one. I would like to purchase on more and that would make the embroidery go even faster. I think the price is very reasonable as I searched around and came back here to get this. ... show more

    • 1100 yd spools fit great except for chinese rayon rolls with big bottom

We purchase 4 - 60 peg Threadart racks that are sturdy hardwood construction and have no loose pegs - we have hung on back of two doors with velcrow (got the good Idea from earlier review). We also have purchased from a local store, the same hardwood rack, but with spacing of only 33 pegs for the larger 5000 yd spools which also work well. We have organized our threads by type on each rack and can take them down off the door for a project using just the one rack such as 18 metallic thread + neon + solar + glow in the dark(all purchased at Amazon). The racks spacing is great for All 1100 yard spools purchased on Amazon = Bright Colors; Royal Colors; the 3 ply black and white sewing thread(10 spool); 15 or 18 metallic colors; and regular size spools at/under 550 yards all have enough spacing between them with one exception. The 1100 yard spools of Rayon thread from China have an oversize base and do not fit side by side. This problem was eliminated by mounting one with base up and the next with base down. Extremely happy. Very sturdy construction. Makes for a well organized sewing room. ... show more

    • Better than the plastic ones
I have bought a plastic rack and this one. The plastic rack broke some spindles immediately. This works much better and holds a lot of regular to large spools. Can't be used for the large cones, unfortunately.

I have purchased 4 to organize my collection of embroidery threads. They are well built and ship and package so that they arrive in perfect condition. These are far better then the June Taylor ones. The pegs are tall enough to hold the taller spools like Floriani which I have. There is no interference between rows that I have found. It is great to have them mounted on the wall and easy to access without the spools falling off like in others I have had in the past. I highly recommend these racks. We had to drill holes to hang them but that was not a problem. You could stand them as they have the legs to do that too. Thank you so much Thread art! ... show more

I just received both of my 66 cone threadracks. Luckily, I had a bucket of glue and a straight pin and was able to glue the dowels back in. One of them had only 2 dowels that were loose; they literally fell out when I opened the box. On the other one, however, there were12 dowels that needed glued back in. I spent about an hour of gluing in the dowels that had come out and reinforced the sides with wood glue where each level was nailed/came in contact with the outside edges. I think tomorrow I'll go out to my shop and attatch a piece of wood down the backside in the middle and glue it as well as use a nail gun so that they don't just fall off the wall. Other than that, they're nice looking and they are made out of hard wood. Best guess is either Eastern maple or birch. (A lot of warped boards, however, but what do you expect for $50 and made in China?) ... show more
