  • Came pre-dented, NO WARRANTY
Style: 80+ Gold Size: 700W
Mine looked like someone dropped it on the factory floor. Works fine, but there was a big dent on it. Never should have made it past QC. Edit: Okay. This is a brand I will never, ever, ever buy again. I contacted Themraltake to ask if warranty would still be honored (I'm okay with a dent if it works). No human being answered -- just an automated response to email with RMA process. I looked at the RMA process. The warranty has an exclusion for items bought from Amazon (not just Amazon, but I believe we're not supposed to post the names of Amazon competitors in reviews). Let me repeat that, in bold, again: THERMALTAKE WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTIES ON ITEMS BOUGHT THROUGH AMAZON. The advertised warranty is pure fiction. Thermaltake will only honor warranties on the 1% of items they sell through your local neighborhood corner store (and presumably, then only with a receipt -- something people never keep that long). I bought a premium power supply in hopes of reliability. I got what appears to be a scam power supply. It went right back to Amazon, and I bought another, more credible brand instead. Good on Amazon for making the return super-easy. On the other hand, if I were Amazon, I'd stop carrying items with scam terms like not honoring warranties if bought from Amazon. ... show more

  • SMART "80 White" 700W supply works fine, VERY quiet, simple drop-in replacement. READ for useful CONNECTOR INFO.
Style: 80+ White Size: 700W
Works fine, VERY quiet, simple drop-in replacement. It took me 10 minutes to replace dead power supply with this one. A bit of useful information missing from the product descriptions (and also missing from the manufacturer's product web page) is the number and configuration of power connectors for each of the dizzying array of Thermaltake SMART power supply models. This is reflected in the number of product questions on the Amazon product page which concern how many (and what type of) connectors. For example, the SMART "80 White" 700W supply (the one I purchased on Amazon) is listed with 5 "peripheral" connectors and 6 SATA connectors. Here's the useful (but missing) information: 1. The 6 SATA connectors are arranged on TWO cables, with 3 SATA connectors apiece. If your 6 (or more) storage devices are arranged in pairs, with each of the pairs in different corners of the chassis, then the two SATA cables are not enough. There is a simple enough solution: purchase MOLEX-to-SATA adapters and use one of the two MOLEX-equipped power cables. But this information should be provided and prominently displayed BEFORE purchase. 2.a The 5 "peripheral" connectors are indeed classic MOLEX connectors. Why make shoppers guess what type of power connectors are included? 2.b The 5 Molex connectors are arranged on TWO cables, with 3 Molex connectors on one cable and 2 Molex connectors (plus a floppy connector) on the 2nd cable. MOLEX-to-SATA adapters and SATA-to-MOLEX adapters are inexpensive and readily available from Amazon (and other places), but they are not provided with the Thermaltake supply. ... show more

  • Dead after a year
Style: 80+ White Size: 600W
As stated the psu died after a year, first I thought it was other things from the system lock ups. I had tested everything and thought it was my motherboard, got a replacement and found it to still lockup. I swapped it with a different psu and now the computer runs without locking up. I would be careful with this psu and get something more better with your money. ... show more

  • Power supply catastrophically failed in days
Style: 80+ White Size: 600W
We bought this power supply as one of the first components for my youngest son’s first build. It took us a long time to get all of the components together. The build went okay, although some of the cables were a bit short (as in “not long”, not as in “electrical short”). The computer then worked great for about 3 days. On the morning of day 4, after what we had assumed was a normal shut-down the night before, we discovered that the power supply had self-destructed, full-on blue smoke and burned components visible rattling around the inside of the power supply. We will be making a warranty claim, as it has a 5-year warranty, but this makes me extremely wary of buying anything else from this manufacturer. ... show more

  • oddly it ended up being these piece of crap power supplies
Style: 80+ White Size: 500W
I bought two of these power supplies, both were dead upon arrival. A royal pain in the butt trying to find out what the issue was. Could have been the motherboard the memory the CPU, oddly it ended up being these piece of crap power supplies. One of the chances are they would get to that didn't work. Had to take my computer into a shop or they tested it with a different power supply and everything I did work perfectly. Save yourself the trouble and spend a few dollars more ... show more

  • Not sure what the other reviews were about...
Style: 80+ White Size: 500W
So I ordered this for a new Ryzen 2700x PC build. After ordering and paying for it, I started to actually read through the reviews with people saying how they got DOA or super loud power supplies. I started to get nervous. I got in on 4/5/2019 and installed it with the new build running some pretty powerful stuff. I only have the 500w version, keep in mind. It worked straight out the box, powered right up. It is essentially silent. I cannot hear it running at all. I have now used it under full load and never did it get too loud. the cables are adequate and long enough to reach everything in my ATX Mid Tower (Rosewill Challenger S case). For the price and efficiency, you should feel comfortable with this purchase. As far as if it will last 3 months...I will update if it fails, but i feel pretty secure with it. It also comes with a 5 year warranty for "just in case". So put your minds at ease. This power supply DOES work as advertised. ... show more
