  • Fit perfectly
Color: BLACK
Relatively easy, really good fit. I really only bought this because I see higher temps even though I have a good CPU cooler and I worry "some" about the possibility that the factory cpu latch holding it down with pressure on the middle sides of a more rectangle CPU ( the i7 13700) "may" cause an issue over time. Whether it would or not, it was a cheap upgrade that will hold the CPU in place with equal pressure on all side and hopefully help the longevity of my PC, and looks nice too although you probably won't see it because of a CPU Cooler. ... show more

  • Great fit, takes the stress from Intel's ILM off of the CPU!
Color: BLACK
When I built my gaming rig two years ago, I marvelled at how much pressure it took to lock my Intel CPU into place with Intel's interlocking mechanism (ILM.) A few months after that, I started hearing stories of people winding up with bent Intel CPUs or bent pins on the motherboard due to uneven pressure being applied by the ILM. I finally got around to ordering this Thermalright frame, and installed it a couple days ago. It fits over & around the CPU like a glove. So far, so good -- the computer seems to be stable and performing about the same as before, and the operating temps don't appear to have changed, though I didn't buy it for this reason. It wasn't a particularly easy install, your mileage may vary depending on whether your motherboard manufacturer used adhesive to hold an unmounted CPU backplate in place (mine didn't), but it was about as easy as one could hope for. As I'm hoping to get about 10 years of life out of this computer, I saw this Thermalright bracket as a necessary modification to avoid long-term damage to my CPU & board. If you are on the fence about it, I'd say do it, but be sure to give yourself a couple hours to do it properly & without any outside stress/distractions. Also, blow out the dust in your computer (esp around the CPU & cooler) a few days before! ... show more

  • Huge upgrade for little price tag
Color: GRAY
I'm installing this on an overclocked i7 12700k. Prior to this upgrade, it was very difficult finding the thermal headroom to push this 3.6 ghz processor past 5 ghz without water cooling or other expensive additions. With this, my core temps have dropped a minimum of 8 degrees C under heavy load, which is absolutely massive for a single part. I need to work out some of the voltage issues to maintain stability, but I believe I can probably get my CPU to hit 5.2 ghz without hitting my thermal caps. And even when my computer is not under load, there is a very sizeable difference in how cool the chip runs now. The part is also incredibly easy to install. Extremely low risk, low cost upgrade that will get you some measurable FPS gains for modern gaming. And if all of that isn't enough, the Thermalright BCF will extend the life of your CPU over the stock ILM with the reduced stress bending of your CPU lid. Included is a screenshot of my computer at idle. The max temperatures were hit when Playing Spiderman Miles Morales, which is a fairly CPU intensive modern game on 1440p on high settings. ... show more

  • Works great!
Color: BLACK
Been using it on my 13th i5 13600kf getting really good temps

  • Better than the factory ILM
Color: BLACK
If you don't want to deal with your cpu bending. A contact frame is the y way to go. It give an even amount of pressure on all side, makes it easy to apply thermal paste, and its aluminum so it has some type of heat decipation.

  • Easy to install i5-12600kf and hyper 212
Color: BLACK
Easy to install and is an inexpensive upgrade to stock retention bracket. Looks great, too bad it's under the cooler. 28 degree Celcius at idle with the Hyper 212 air cooler.

  • Works as advertised, but be careful with installation!
Color: BLACK
I have a 12600k, paired with a 360mm AIO in push-pull configuration. Before installing the bracket, the CPU reached a max temp of 66C under a stress test, as a benchmark. I used the default BIOS fan curve, which was quite aggressive. I installed the bracket very slowly and carefully. There are no marks or anything to indicate how much to turn the screws during installation, or how much to tighten them. At first, I rotated each screw 90 degrees in a star pattern, to slowly lower the bracket down as evenly as I could. I repeated until I started feeling a little bit of resistance. After that, I rotated each sides 45 degrees in a star pattern, until they stopped screwing down when applying very little torque. I did not overtighten. I turned my computer on and it wouldn't boot. The motherboard flashed the CPU and RAM lights. It turns out that I had overtightened the screws after all. After reinstalling, I made sure to stop tightening the screws the moment that I felt any resistance. And sure enough, my computer booted up just fine after that. As for the results, my CPU now runs at a maximum temperature of 60C under a stress test, and that's with a much lower and quieter fan curve. So not only does it run much cooler, it also allows my whole system to run much quieter at the same time. TL;DR - As long as you install the bracket correctly (see the video from Gamers Nexus about that), you'll definitely notice improvements in CPU temps ... show more

  • Optimistically Skeptical
Color: BLACK
I read about this on forums when my water cooler died, and the air cooler I bought was just barely keeping things within margins. I absolutely needed something that would get my idle temps down from almost 60 degrees to something more reasonable. This pressure plate after installing it meticulously following instructions on YouTube to ensure it is in perfect alignment and even pressure my temps dropped ~15 degrees or more. This is far too inexpensive and easy to install properly to not at least give it a try. Deserves every one of the 5 stars I gave it. ... show more
