  • Just get it
Color: BLACK
I had the typical Intel CPU retainer on my MB which, with research, would give you unequal pressure on the chipset resulting in higher CPU temps. For those with the 13700 series, we are all struggling to keep the temps down to respectable numbers. Not only did this get rid of the standard CPU retainer, but it looks and performs much better. Pros: Installation was a breeze. Look at GamersNexus YouTube video for installation so you create equal pressure when tightening down. Temps are brought down as of now. I’m still verifying that with extensive use so I’m not providing initial temp numbers. Quality is very good. I got the black to match my MB. Seems to be CNC machine metal. Cons: None as of now. Just get it. It will only improve your CPU temps, especially at this low price. ... show more

  • Better than the factory ILM
Color: BLACK
If you don't want to deal with your cpu bending. A contact frame is the y way to go. It give an even amount of pressure on all side, makes it easy to apply thermal paste, and its aluminum so it has some type of heat decipation.

  • Optimistically Skeptical
Color: BLACK
I read about this on forums when my water cooler died, and the air cooler I bought was just barely keeping things within margins. I absolutely needed something that would get my idle temps down from almost 60 degrees to something more reasonable. This pressure plate after installing it meticulously following instructions on YouTube to ensure it is in perfect alignment and even pressure my temps dropped ~15 degrees or more. This is far too inexpensive and easy to install properly to not at least give it a try. Deserves every one of the 5 stars I gave it. ... show more

  • Easy to install and steady temperatures
Color: BLACK
Sitting in BIOS the CPU temp was at a steady 29C with a basic 120mm heatsink and fan with a 125w CPU. In Windows did not exceed 41C with basic usage (web, email, etc). Works great!

  • Solid -5'C in temps after installation
Color: BLACK
Installation was as simple as removing the cpu cooler, unscrewing the old buckle and screwing in the Thermalright plate. I noticed right away upon booting up Bluestacks that temps were 5 degrees lower in both max and avg temps than usual, and this remained consistent throughout the time that I kept it running. Very much happy that something so simple and useful is available, especially for 13th gen intel cpus ... show more

  • great price.
Color: BLACK
I don't know if it will actually cause your processor not to bend over time but it was well priced, easy to install and felt very secure.Better safe than sorry I guess.

  • Investment for longevity
Color: GRAY
After noticing the hourglass shape imprint in my thermal paste and learning about the Intel clamp bending issue, I bought a Thermalright V1 and V2 contact frame for my two Intel CPUs. I don't know if V1 has any physical differences but it looks nicer in grey and also includes a tube of thermal paste. I think the Intel 13th and 14th gen issues may be related to bending but I can't find any confirmation of that. I don't know if my temperatures decreased, maybe a few degrees, but that's not my main concern. No matter what, I like knowing my new i9-12900k and i5-12400 aren't being unnecessarily bent and damaged by the Intel clamp. ... show more
