  • Temps went up compared to no heatsink
Size: 25m x 10mm x 0.20mm
I bought this tape to affix heat sinks to the chips on a Pine Rock64. Bare chips run "warm, but safe" at 53'C/127'F. With this tape and bare aluminum heat sinks, the temperature is consistent at 61'C : 142'F ("Running warm but safe" according to the DietPi OS). Removal of the tape and laying the bare heat sinks on the chips pulls the temperature down to 46'C/114'F ("cool running"). I later tried a similar looking 3M tape and the temp dropped to between warm and cool, an acceptable trade off for being adhesive & removable. In the end I used Arctic Silver cement and permanently affixed the heat sinks. Temps were nearly the same as the bare aluminum directly on the chips. In light of this, I cannot recommend this tape unless you want to insulate whatever it is you are trying to cool. ... show more

  • Not sure about thermal performance, but it worked well for an old 486
Size: 25m x 30mm x 0.20mm
I have been trying to get a hold of a specific rare overdrive chip for my 486 (Evergreen AMD 5x86 w/built-in voltage regulator). The prices for that particular CPU are exorbitant, so I bought the base CPU, a cheap voltage regulator adapter, and I had an old 486 heatsink/fan lying around. I needed this tape to attach the heatsink to the CPU, since the old pre-Socket1/2/3 CPU socket does not have mounting brackets and the CPU's height would be too much for it anyway. The tape worked perfectly. I do not know if it performs very well, thermally, but that's not so important for an old 5x86 chip. It just needs some mild cooling, so this tape was definitely enough. As a result, the CPU stays quite cool. I'd be more concerned with a more modern, high-TDP device. The tape is pretty thick, and it's pretty sticky, so I don't know how hard it would be to separate the CPU from the heatsink at this point. That's probably a good thing, though, since the motherboard/CPU are turned on their side (they are in a tower case) so I need the tape to resist gravity indefinitely. They have stuck together well so far. ... show more

  • Good but not better than other tape
Size: 25m x 10mm x 0.20mm
I bought this tape as it claimed thermal conductivity of 2.0W/m-K, whereas other tapes claim 1.5. I see other reviews claiming if it works at all. Well, I did an experiment with a thermal camera. On an electric kettle I boiled, I placed black tape, a non-shiny aluminum heatsink with tape that claims 1.5 (left) and the same heatsink with this tape that claims 2.0 (right). I put a fan blowing at the whole setup. Results? This tape works as well as the other. The heatsink it was on had a verrrry slightly higher emission but so little difference it was margin of error territory. The heatsinks heated up at almost the same rate. In summary it works, but I couldn't notice much of a difference in the results from using my other thermal tape. The tape also appears similar in structure. It's definitely not an insulator. However, anyone expecting it to perform similarly to thermal paste will be sorely disappointed as good thermal paste has thermal conductivity several times higher and perhaps that's why some people are disappointed. Use the right tool for the job. If you are putting thermal tape on your CPU you're already doing it wrong. 4 stars from me, mainly because the overall results didn't obviously surpass my other tape rated 1.5W/m-K, which is not to say it's bad tape of course. I'd use it just the same, I just wouldn't go out of my way to choose this over other options. ... show more

  • Be aware the adhesion degrades a lot after a couple of days
Size: 25m x 10mm x 0.20mm
After a couple of days after the installation, the expensive aluminum radiator I installed at the back of this power supply fall off to the floor and the side fin got deformed. Fortunately I was often checking the temperature of the power supply case and was able to turn it off before it overheated. The original aluminum backplate surface of the power supply is absolutely smooth, it also works as a radiator to dissipate the heath so I deeply cleaned it and carefully installed the external aluminum radiator pushing it hard to the backplate to assure the thermal tape hold them together. With the external aluminum radiator the power supply case temperature lowered so much it barely feels warm so high temperature is not an excuse why the tape didn't hold the radiator to the back plate. I had to fabricate 4 holding clips to force the radiator pressed against the backplate. The power supply is installed in vertical position against a wall. I don't recommend this thermal tape for it's lack of long term adhesion unless you use any kind of holding bracket to force together both the radiator and the heath source that requires cooling. ... show more

  • Thermals good, Stays stuck so far
Size: 25m x 10mm x 0.20mm
I water cooled my graphics card and the water block doesn't cover ram modules and vrm chips, so I bought some mini aluminum heat sinks and this tape. The mini heatsinks have been hanging upside down on my gpu for a few months now and none have become lose or have fallen off. Temps are improved also. Happy with how this tape is holding up so far. ... show more

  • Works like any other thermal adhesion tape
Size: 25m x 10mm x 0.20mm
Works great. Good adhesion. Using for a stepper motor that runs quite hot. It doesn't seem to lose its adhesive strength when heated but I will update if that changed over time.

  • Great for 3d printer glass bed
Size: 25m x 15mm x 0.20mm
Got a roll of this for adhering a borosilicate glass plate to the bed of one of my 3d printers. The tape worked great and after rounds and rounds of heatup and cool down it's still stuck strong. Way better than binder clips like many use, IMO. It's a decently long roll, I would have liked to buy less at first because I wasn't sure if it would work well or not, but now I am happy and will use this for glass beds on my other machines and still have left overs. ... show more

  • Useless
Size: 25m x 15mm x 0.20mm
Got this because I was replacing a component in my PS4 and needed to replace the heat sink compound applied at the factory. After thoroughly cleaning everything, I used a piece of this, and reassembled everything. Upon trying to load a game the PS4 immediately overheated and shut down. After taking everything apart again, but this time using a heat sink compound, everything works great. Definitely do not recommend. ... show more
