This kit was extremely useful and gave me lots of confidence holding a crochet hook. The yarn is super easy to use. Highly recommend for someone who is just starting out. The price point is a bit high, but you get what you pay for. Just to let whoever is reading this know, that there are tons of free tutorials on YouTube and free patterns all over the internet. So, you don't have to continue to buy kits like these.. I do recommend this beginners kit at first though to give you confidence in reading patterns, holding a crochet hook, and the yarn alone is worth the money because the yarn doesn't fall apart as you're using it. My 13 year old daughter is talented and able to crochet so easily. She has tried to teach her 11 year old sister who badly wants to learn to crochet. The 11 year old could never get the hang of it. Bought this for a 9 yo interested in crocheting stuffed toys. I watched the video several times so I could help get my kid started but couldn’t make much progress even though I know how to knit. The instructions are almost too detailed and repetitive for the first steps and then too general. I wish there was a booklet provided instead of having to scan a QR code and juggle the phone to scroll the videos to whichever sections I needed to rewatch with the yarn draped over my fingers. In short, this was frustrating for both me and my kid. Probably good for someone who already knows the basics of crocheting.
