The media could not be loaded. I had previously learned how to make a chain, and then got stuck not knowing what to do next. It’s been probably over 10 years since I last tried to even hold a crochet hook, so I’d say I qualified as a total beginner. This kit was perfect. The yarn doesn’t split, so you’re not piercing it with your hook. The videos are clear and slow and repetitive enough to let you see what you need and follow. It is such a confidence booster to make something fun, instead of learning by making a dish cloth or hot pad or scarf. This was fun and got me hooked. Highly recommend it. It comes with everything, including hook, yarn, instructions, access to help, needle, plastic eyes (which I didn’t use), stitch markers… on and on. It was on sale so I bought it (AKA girl math). I've been getting ads for these for months and when I saw that Amazon had them and they were on sale for Prime Day I figured why not. Welp, turns out they help with anxiety and this has turned into a very expensive addiction. The directions and very easy to follow and the materials are great. There is so much help out there that if you get confused someone can help you. I tried to buy a cheaper kit after this and ended up returning it because it wasn't as easy to use as these. I've been enjoying how this kit and the video instructions teach you some great basic stitches like Single Crochet and Increase! I'm a nooby and trying to learn through youtube has proven... extremely frustrating. With this, I've gotten the hang of how to hold my yarn and hook, keep track of stitches, read basic patterns, and maintain even stitches. Great basics! Great way to learn :). Now for some minor/major complaints depending on what you want from these kits. After Rnd.2 everything gets confusing. I drew out my own pattern for Rounds 4 and 5 (where I left off before writing this) to keep myself from getting too confused, it's pretty easy and I recommend doing that. Tally marks can get frustrating and I'd rather just count my stitches and look at the pattern to see where I should be. Second, the price is a bit steep but I'm more than happy to support this awesome small business. My wallet will be crying though... and that's on me, but these kits feel like they can get addictive fast! I can't wait to see what else the people at Woobles will come up with! ... show more

I have tried crocheting before and stopped because it was really hard (couldn’t get past the magic knot or slip stitch lol). I have been wanting to try out this company for a while now and finally got a kit. Being a Lefty, there aren’t many clear videos on how to crochet. The videos were super easy to understand and gave really helpful tips. Makes a perfect gift and all supplies are top quality. It came out so cute and I even have extra supplies left over. For somebody who has never crocheted before, I found this very challenging, but equally as satisfying. The instructions are excellent, and if you really pay attention and our detail oriented, it comes out exactly as it should. Be prepared to undo and redo various parts (many times over in my case), but but in the process of doing so without realizing it, you are picking up all of the nuances of being good at crochet. Important note: if you need help, customer service/support is completely unresponsive. You are basically on your own if you have a problem. Don’t expect any support from the company (this is supposedly one of their selling points for justifying their high prices, but experience has proved it to be otherwise). As far as the price, yes they are expensive, but I would say you are paying for the education more than the product. ... show more

I was so impressed by this kit! I did not have high hopes for me learning and it went super well. The videos are very clear and step by step, sometimes painfully detailed and slow. I used the email support a few times when I messed up- you send a picture of your piece and they draw on the picture to tell you what to do. That was so worth the price of the kit for me, I would likely have given up. I recommend starting with this one or another that is just an oval, I tried the unicorn next and it was very challenging and videos not nearly as good. ... show more
