  • Not the original Twilight Zone
I thought since this said "Season One" that it was the original "Twilight Zone" hosted with Rod Serling. This is hosted by Forest Whitaker. Very interesting episodes, but I was disappointed that it's not all my old favorites that I grew up with like "Talkie Tina" with Telly Savalas or all of the other episodes I know. I'm going to keep the 6 discs and watch them eventually, but I really wish I would have noticed some kind of description that this is 2002 production and not the original. Buyer beware. ... show more

  • Completing my collection
This review is about the physical media itself, not the show packaged in it. Perfectly adequate DVD packaging, discs are held correctly (some cases, like the 80s Twilight Zone DVD set, hold discs weirdly and cause scratches or seem like they'll snap the disc when removing them, this is not the case here). The menus are easy to navigate, it's not annoying to watch or use. I'm not a fan of the Korn singer's rendition of the theme that plays on some but not all menu screens, but repeated music clips on menus is expected with DVDs. No surprises here, the full series is included. The show is what it is, it is not the original classic Twilight Zone, but it is hard to find outside of this disc set, so if you find it for a decent price don't feel bad grabbing it. ... show more

  • One season of a good try to capture the Twilight Zone vibe
Well, firstly, I think Forrest Whitaker did a great job as narrator. I don't know why some people are so negative about him. Also, I thought this series had many memorable episodes. Evergreen, Azoth the Avenger is a Friend of Mine, Upgrade, The Collection, and Night Route were all good original stories in the spirit of the original show. True, some stories were clunkers, but that happened in the original series as well. The 6 disk case is a solid bit of packing and it has a sleeve, which is nice. An episode guide on the back of the package lists the titles on each disk, though you have to pop in the DVD for episode descriptions on each disk. As a big Twilight Zone fan, I am glad to have this affordable set of a short lived revival. ... show more

  • X-FILES COMPOSER MARK SNOW ADDS A COMPLEX LAYER OF SPOOKY OOZE!
Tense, terrifying terror conjurs up this excellent season of newly constructed episodes of this 2002 release. Mark Snow adds a devilishly demented dose of brain shattering fright.. Hosted by Forrest Whitaker (from the intense drama The Last King Of Scotland with Gillian Anderson) adds a new drench of sinister cinema. A sensational treat for horror fans! ... show more

  • In the "Zone"
The original is still among my all-time favorite TV shows! We had just gotten TV in western Kansas when it started. The reboots, though not always 'classic', are still most enjoyable, especially when some originals are 'rebooted' for a new look. A "Zone" experience of my own during the period when this 'new' series was on TV was receiving a phone call from an Individual with my same name while I was watching the program; We share similar 4-letter middle names plus we both have a younger brother named Richard!! So I live also in and out of the Twilight Zone!! ... show more

  • The last of the Twilight Zone series
There are 3 different box sets of The Twilight Zone Series Twilight Zone Original Twilight Zone The 80's Series and the one with Forest Whitacre 2000 The later has some remakes of some episodes of the original series It is a must have for those who enjoyed the other two.

  • A Pleasant Surprise
If you want to compare it to the original series you might be disappointed. Despite the name this a science fiction anthology in its own right. Some excellent stories that are good science fiction. There are three remakes from the original series and one follow-up story. I think this compares favorably to the 1995 Outer Limits series. I love the introduction, sound in DTS is excellent. Production values and special effects are good. If you are looking for a good science fiction show with stand-alone episodes this is a good find. There are 43 episodes, all half-hour episodes except the first which is hour-long. I prefer this to the 1985 version. ... show more

  • Uneven stories
I found the reboot of the classic TV show, The Twilight Zone something of a disappointment. Although many of the episodes of this updated version contained many well known and even respected actors many of the stories I found to be boring. There are a few episodes that stand out but sadly their the minority not the majority so I'm forced to give it only three stars, or an "Okay " rating. If your thinking of purchasing this series I recommend you rent it first if possible so you can get a clear assessment of what your purchasing and possibly end up disappointed as I was after I bought it without first watching the show. ... show more
