Stating the obvious firstly: black pepper is nowhere near as sharp, as red pepper flakes. Indeed they are not "hot". So I understand thereby, though, how piquant black pepper is to be. These corns are not that indeed. They are good, fresh, and close on. If you are buying them because you want premium quality, and(more importantly) what fresh black corns are supposed to be: move along, these are not the droids you are looking for. Search elsewhere. They do well, but just miss the mark. Which is disappointing, as I've used this brand for other spices, and they do quite well. ... show more
