  • Useful and innovative snow pusher
I was attracted to try this snow pusher because of the good reviews. For the most part, those expectations have been met. It is well constructed. The blade is made of a very thick plastic material that is lightweight and sturdy. The fiberglass handle with a grip at the end makes it easy to handle. I find it to move snow easily without any snow sticking to the blade. The only thing I noticed is that it catches easily on very small discontinuities in my driveway surface. This surprised me because the blade is so thick. It catches worse than the thin metal shovels I use. Nevertheless, I found that the catching was minimized if I lowered the handle to make the blade closer to parallel with the surface. I have only used it a couple of times, but I believe I will continue to enjoy using it whenever the snow is not deep enough to justify using my blower. I am also comfortable using on my stone sidewalk where I am cautious about using metal tools that might damage the surface. ... show more

  • Two thumbs up!
I don't write reviews. But..... The Snowplow Shovel just arrived and so did the snow! It really does plow through the snow! At 5'5"....the 24" blade is the perfect size for me...plus it really is very light weight! It's surprisingly very sturdy too! Assembly was easy...but I did need to use a small cordless drill for the self- tapping screws. I started with about 3-4 inches of fluffy snow. Fast and easy clean up! Then the wet stuff came down. The shovel worked just as good! I even used it to swiftly clear the snow off the hood and roof of my car! (Not recommended...but it didn't scratch anything) In comparison to everyone else that was shoveling their smaller driveways.....this Plow Shovel definitely speeds up the job of snow removal a lot!!! I am super happy I found this product and read the reviews. Two thumbs up!! Five Stars across the board! ... show more

  • Modular and very easy to push snow
Got the 24 in. If you aren't planning to have to push deep snow you might consider the 36 in. For my drive and typical snows 24 in is good. Picture shows the thickness of the blade after I assembled it. I've used this to clear about 2 in of snow from my drive after I got it and it works as advertised. Holds the snow nicely in front and one final quick push puts it up the bank. Tip for section seam navigation on drives, just approach the seam or crack at a slight angle and head will not catch. You do it just before you get to the seam so you dont lose your line. The insert showed a guy plowing with a hand on the handle and the other on the shovel shaft leaning over it. This actually works to clean the surface better and combined with the angle tip you will have a smooth push. Did notice that edge on the bottom erodes but given the thickness and that you can buy a new blade at some future time, it is not a big deal. Shovel capability is limited but functional, but you really dont need much as the plow does its job. The instructions for assembly are very clear. They do recommend an electric drill to attach the handle. You will use it to drive the self-tapping screws provided into the handle. ... show more

  • Probably the best shovel you can buy
So why did I buy the Snow Plow shovel? Because at my previous job, we used these shovels for shoveling snow at residential and commercial properties. The poly board blade does a very excellent job at getting snow that may normally stick to a sidewalk or driveway. The ones we used held up quite well to a lot of abuse, the plastic shovels we had to get when we got more crews out, the wooden handle or the plastic blade would snap. Only reason why we had to get those was because of the popularity of the Snow Plow shovels, they were out of stock at the few distributors we had around our company. For assembly, it's best to have a 7/16" socket with ratchet (shallow well works, deep well also works) and a 7/16" box open end wrench. Just get the bolt a couple threads into the unlock nuts and its tight. Too tight and you'll crack the hard plastic backing plate, do not use a 1/4 electric impact to speed through it, you'll end up over torquing and breaking the plastic back plate or even damage the poly board shovel, or both. You'll also need a drill and a small drill bit around a 5/64" or smaller. All you are doing is creating a pilot hole in the plastic plate into the handle for the self tapping screws. Yes these are kind of expensive, but you're paying for a tool that'll last you several years without issue. Would highly recommend! ... show more

  • Excellent Pusher but Heavier than Expected
I'm getting up in years and this snowplow met four of my five selection criteria. It is (1) sturdy, (2) well constructed (some assembly required), (3) does the job, and (4) the leading edge will not wear out (as do most others with a plastic edge) or lose the leading metal edge as most eventually do (no such edge is required for this pusher). Despite only getting the 24" blade, it is... because of the blade... (5) heavier than anticipated. That latter feature no doubt contributes to this pusher's effectiveness, but to portray the assembled product as "lightweight" is misleading. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat, and may that beat continue as I am using the snowplow to clear my vast driveway. ... show more
