This is by far the most comfortable NorthFace backpack I have owned and I have owned many. This model feels like you don't have anything on your back! It is that comfortable! Goal was to find a backpack that I can use for bus trave as carry on with my laptop and also use as a day or two bag on hikes or quick trip get a way. Go with the Osprey Nebula! Disappointed in functionality. Lots of pockets, but cramped spaces and awkward access. Also not as comfortable fully packed out as the Osprey. I thought it would be the one, but when I compared it to the nebula, the nebula was the clear winner for what I needed. ... show more

I just received this in the mail and immediately put it to the test. Overall opinion: I’m impressed. Upon opening it, the pack was in perfect condition and I didn’t notice any wear or tear. At first, I feared it would be too small to fit anything, but once I loosened the bottom straps, I found that the main compartment was much more spacious. I was able to fit: two one-inch binders, one large textbook, three one-subject notebooks, one composition notebook, one regular book, my 8x11 planner, my laptop case which usually holds my laptop and ipad (though with this backpack I won’t need the case, my AirPod maxs, deodorant, one charger bag, one pencil bag, one makeup bag, and one 32oz wide mouth hydroflask and one 20oz contiguous coffee thermos in both water bottle packets. It is exactly what I needed for college. My favorite parts: *Fits my hydroflask and coffee thermos at the same time *I can fit multiple binders/notebooks *The two pockets with internal organization *The top padded/felt pocket that perfectly fits my headphones *The laptop pocket seems very padded-I won’t be using my case with this bag *The straps and back are comfortable and easy to adjust Least favorite things: *If you have the middle compartment full like I did when testing it, and if you have both water bottle slots in use, the front pockets are almost rendered useless in terms of available space because of how stretched it can get. I will post another review once I get used to the bag. *It’s definitely not as stylish as some of my previous backpacks but it is more functional so I can’t complain. It really only looks the worst of both water bottle pockets are full but if I got smaller/skinnier bottles it wouldn’t be an issue. *it took me a while to figure out how best to organize my pack so that all of the pockets could still be used. Overall the bag is lenient, however when one pocket is full the other ones become taught and it makes the bag look weird. TLDR: it fits my schoolbooks and I love the laptop pocket. Both water bottle pockets can fit a 32oz hydroflask when the bag is full, but this can make some of the smaller organizational pockets kind of tight and it makes the bag look less aesthetically pleasing. ... show more
