Description

When I started this project, I knew I was committing to producing something that would render you completely immune to unrequited love. As a neuroscientist who used to suffer horrifically from the condition but is now completely free, I want nothing more than for all of you to achieve the same. If you heed the advice in this book and commit to your own expansion, I can guarantee that you will never fall for a limerent object (LO) again. Limerence is possibly the most tenacious, painful behavioural pattern that exists and many people remain trapped in its grips for decades, but only a few weeks/months of implementing the correct thinking patterns can transform your subconscious mind and liberate you. Since it is a multi-faceted, complex phenomenon, we must comprehend every possible facet of limerence and reconcile all of the different ways that we view it. Neurobiology, psychology or spirituality all describe the same feelings in different terms - but what is at the ROOT of this disorder? You will learn: - The role that genetics plays in priming you for limerence - The brain regions that activate during limerence, and what this reveals about how to cure it - Dopamine, reward pathways, and the reason why anticipation of future times with this person are so euphoric - Why other people transition into real relationships, yet you attract unrequited love - How to discover the precise psychological needs that YOU have but are neglecting (and how to honour them) - Thoughts, beliefs, and how these actively dictate what every aspect of our lives is like - How to ascertain which particular beliefs of yours are a). limiting and b). aligning you with limerence - All about LOs: common traits that they have, and specific dynamics that limerents end up entertaining with them - Your trigger archetype: why do you fall for the people you fall for? - The Law of Assumption: where spirituality meets science - How to change your beliefs and meet your needs, which in turn heals your brain, balances your neurotransmitters and promises you permanent emotional freedom - The benefits of being limerence prone: how your obsessive and motivated disposition will make you incredibly successful (far more so than your calmer, more stable friends) once you detach from person addiction and start to live for yourself. Once we've appreciated all the different aspects of a single limerent episode, you will learn how to methodically rewire your brain. Many obese people think that they can't quit sugar, but the proactive ones do and then remain skinny for life. Similarly, you are wholly capable of becoming a version of yourself who isn't just 'limerence-free', but who could never even fall for a LO in the first place. Your current reality is just the reflection of your beliefs and thoughts; change these, and the external world will rearrange in front of your eyes and you will effortlessly attract real, beautiful love. Limerence becomes your norm, but it isn't normal; recovery is essential and non-negotiable. Give yourself your best chance in this life and leave limerence behind now, rather than having to go through this transition in 10 years time. Bliss, clarity and pure, magical abundance awaits you! Plus, someone who's limerence-prone but has beaten limerence possesses major advantages in this world, both socially and professionally. The same genetics that let you 'fixate' on an LO render you driven, smart, articulate, intense and passionate. It just takes educating yourself, unsticking your brain and redirecting your inner flame towards wonderful things. Latest edition of The Limerent Mind: 163 pages, including a bonus chapter ft. six real, recovered limerents' stories. Read more

  • This book has helped me more than any other book on limerance that I have read
The author is a neuroscientist and herself has suffered from limerance. She is passionate about helping others of us who have suffered with this attachment disorder. I have been falling in love with unavailable people my entire adult life. When you do this and get rejected, it serves to confirm your belief that you are unlovable. I should add that years of cognitive behavioral therapy laid the groundwork for this book helping me so much. The breakthough that the author shares is a technique for reprogramming your self-conscious, which is where our beliefs about ourselves primarily reside, at least the dogged ones that won't let go of us. As a result of using this technique, I opened up to the possibility of loving and being loved by someone who was actually interested in me. And guess what? At age 70 I have a healthy dating relationship for the first time. I cannot emphasize enough that this book is not a substitute for psychotherapy, but it was a necessary adjunct. You do have to. through therapy, to get rid of all the shame you carry about having "failed at intimacy." You have to get over having to prove anything to anybody (ie. prove to yourself and others that you have NOT failed at intimacy). You have to understand that happiness is an inside game (being in a relationship with someone who loves you is not what will make you happy). Once all that is in place, this book is the ticket. I had been working on myself for decades and was at a point of trying to accept that despite my best efforts, I would probably go to my grave without ever having had the opportunity to put into practice all I have learned from doing things wrong for decades. Well, now I am putting all that into practice and enjoying intimacy and being in the present moment for the first time ever. IT IS NOT TOO LATE!!!!!!!! Thank you Lucy Bain!!!! ... show more

  • Wow! It's like the owner manual for humans (at least some humans).
I came across this book by going to Lucy’s blog and seeing the notification about this book being available. I’ve read a few limerence entries on her blog before and considered it the best limerence help one can find on the internet. Immediately, I became excited about the book. Myself and a few friends of mine share this predisposition to limerence and although I’m currently free of it, I wanted to hear some more information and insights, especially coming from a neuroscience expert. I was pleased the price for Kindle ebook was affordable and got it. The book is short and one should be able to read it in short time. I’m not a slow reader, but it took me a lot of time to go through the book. Some paragraphs i had to reread a few times for the revelations to sink in. Every 10-20 pages i had to stop and pounder about my ways. Some of my thoughts were not comfortable, but the process of healing clearly crafted by Lucy took place and I came out from reading it a changed person. Fully optimistic about my next direction of my life. Lucy’s message is incredibly uplifting and motivating to change. She is a charismatic person and it comes through her writing. Her writing style is exquisitely beautiful but easy to understand. She is able to blend scientific information into easy to understand prose that is intermingled with spiritual values and deep human compassion and it’s fascinating to read. When I was near the end of the ebook. I was genuinely sad that this comes to end soon. Just like a wonderful vacation trip when it’s ending. This book moved me and touched me like no other book. Lucy’s intimate knowledge of Limerant personality made me feel she wrote it just for me after knowing me all my life. It's like the book is all about me. It's like the owner manual for humans (at least some humans) we should have had it all the time but nature didn't give it to us. I recommend this book for anyone who is in the mids of limerence, or who knows someone affected by limerence, but also for some of us who overcame limerence, but still harbor hidden limerent tendencies inside. I didn’t even know I had them, but my experience with the book showed otherwise. In summary, the $9.99 bought me a window into myself, a spiritual journey, healing experience better than any psychoterapy sessions I aver had, and a priceless feeling of a connection with a fellow human being who is caring and wants to help countless suffering souls. I sent the link to the ebook to some of my friends and encouraged them to read the free introductory content to see if they want to purchase the book for themselves. Some liked it a lot, but one person did not. I guess YMMV and try the free content first to try it out. As for me, I’m hooked on Lucy’s writing and looking forward to any more books she may have in the pipeline. Despite a few cons, I’m so impressed, I’m giving the book all 5 stars. Summary. Pros: Easy and enjoyable to read, beautifully written, very helpful, uplifting, a spiritual experience (at least for me). Cons: Short text and few references. Not everyone likes her style of expression. ... show more

  • Excellent material that reads like stereo instructions
The topic of limerence is a revelation. It's critical for those who have ever felt trapped by their feelings for someone. Pros: Author is very knowledgeable, educated, and speaks from experience. The explanations are comprehensive, covering mind, body and spirit. The techniques explored are tried, tested, proven, and they WORK. I'm already a better person after starting this journey of recovery. Cons: This book is desperate for a good editor. It is rife with typos. It's a shame that this work was self published without editing because the material is so vital and useful. The writing can be a tad hard to follow at times. It's inconsistent in tone. It sounds like a doctoral dissertation at times. Some of the section organization is questionable. Overall this was an excellent and enlightening read. I wish i had known about this 20 years ago. Please be patient with the shortcomings i mentioned before. It's worth it. ... show more

  • Not professionally formatted
The interior file of this book needs to be formatted and then resubmitted to Amazon. I suggest using Atticus for formatting and proofreading. You can also use draft2digital for formatting. I have not read all the way through the book yet, so I won't comment on the content. I recommend reading Dorothy Tennov's book as well; "Love and Limerence" As a point of nomenclature, the authors cited use the term subconscious, when what they really mean is the unconscious, as defined by Carl Jung. That debate will never get resolved until people understand the difference between those terms and their connotations. Which of course will never happen. Keep writing and publishing. Limerence is interesting and fun. (sic) ... show more

  • There was no solid action items
This was very scientific but the actual action items and plan you need was super vague. It's genetic? even though i beg to differ. go no contact. Think from the end. that's all you need to know.
