There is a bit of a tingle from the added essential oil but I didn’t find it too strong or uncomfortable. If you’ve ever used a “padsicle” after giving birth, they are like those and would be nice to use in between needing the giant pads and not needing any post delivery. I love these so much there easy to use, feel nice, and make my time of month comfortable and enjoyable. When the little cool tingly thing happens it feels nice and doesn’t really have a negative affect on me I know some people have complained it does the opposite but it doesn’t do that for me.
