My review: Major improvements on the shot control mechanics Graphics seem slightly improved You can finally fast forward the action when you no longer care to wait to see what the ball is going to do You can finally choose Front 9 or Back 9 when setting up a match (on previous versions it 18 holes or turn off your xbox) The PGA partnership is a great addition and the courses are rendered beautifully This franchise has always look amazing, but the mechanics and limited configurability really made it hard to play - it was severely lacking.     • Fun golf game... but consistent swing tempo is very challenging on an Xbox controller.

Had the tempo grooved for a while, but as with real swing, then I lost it. A new controller helped some as the right stick had grown a tad insensitive on my original controller. Best feature are the many user created courses you can access. Some I have actually played in real life including The Old Course, Carnoustie and, my #1, Turnberry Ailsa. All are very accurately rendered. Also finally got to play a certain, very famous, "National" course not too far from Atlanta, GA. Only not picks are that in Career mode tournaments you always play alone in the last "group". Game needs to create option to render playing companions to make threesomes Days 1 and 2, and pairings Days 3 and 4. Note: Game does allow you to "ghost" other players when you play user created courses. So long as ghost used the weather defaults, and you do as well, the competition is realistic and well paced. ... show more

My husband has had his XBOX for over 2 years and really. Ever played. Bought him this game and he plays on the weekends now. He loves it and it is really nice to see him have a game he enjoys to play.

This is a fantastic game. Some are disappointed that it only comes with 6 "real courses." Those are TPC- Boston , TPC-Deer Run, TPC- Sawgrass, TPC- Scottsdale, TPC-Summerlin and TPC-Southwind. All are beautifully done. This game also comes with a course designer. Many people have spent countless hours creating a whole hot of courses. All the big names are in there and well done. The graphics are great. This game is a joy. It is also a challenge. I would start of on the easiest difficulty and work your way up. Do practice rounds, just like the pros, before you play for keeps. HB Studios has done a tremendous job and I hope they keep it up! ... show more

Saw the drop to $15 before the new pga game comes out in a few months, and was unable to purchase a digital copy of McIlroy due to all digital videogame stores delisting it, so I thought I would give it a shot. This game lacks every bit of polish that McIlroy had, switching between types of shots makes your character switch roughly between preset starting points for animations, the controls are limited to skill stick style hitting only (which isn't terrible and works ok, just not my preference), and this game playing in 4k on my one-x still looked worse than McIlroy on my base ps4 1080p from the fairway to the animations, to the character models. It comes off as a very high quality sim made by fans and not a high quality stuidio. The commentary might also be the worst ever in a game with about 4 different ways that tell you that your last shot sucked. Hard pass recommendation for those looking to get a cheap 4k golf game, go older or newer to get a higher quality game. ... show more
