Description

Birmingham. 4th February 2017. The End. After nearly fifty years it was the final show of Black Sabbath's Farewell Tour back where it all began in their home city of Birmingham, the industrial heart of England. There could be no more appropriate place for the Godfathers of Heavy Metal to take their last bow. Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne delivered a set that focused on Black Sabbath's classic seventies albums, the albums that defined a genre and inspired future generations. It was an extraordinary, emotional night for both the band and the fans and one that will never be forgotten. Bonus Features include the Angelic Studio Sessions - full performance footage of brand new recordings of five classic early Black Sabbath tracks: (1) The Wizard (2) Wicked World (3) Sweet Leaf (4) Tomorrow's Dream (5) Changes.

  • INCREDIBLE!
This concert aired on Direct TV about 3 weeks ago. I was flipping through the channels and happened to land on it. I was blown away...i immediately ordered the bluray....i didn't even know it existed...come to find out it was THREE YEARS OLD! D'oh!....Geez, i wonder what other HD classic concerts there are out there that i don't know about??????...This concert and AC/DC - Live At Donnington are the best concerts i've ever seen on bluray so far....Black Sabbath never sounded better...they still sound every bit as good as they did in the early 70s with the exception that Ozzy can't hit the high notes anymore...otherwise its like still living in the 70s....He actually does a better job in the angelic sessions portion of the disc.....he almost sounded like the ozzy of the 70s there....Sweet Leaf and Tomorrows Dream were a real treat....if you grew up back in those days like i did you really should get this if you don't already have it...it will bring back so many acid memories!......"Generals gathered in their massezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!...just like witches as black massezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!".....Sabbath RULES! ... show more

  • Maravilloso concierto.
... show more

  • Pretty Awesome!
I wasn't very optimistic about this DVD. I have their last concert (Gathered in their masses) and was very disappointed with it. But I took a chance anyways. Glad I did. The song selection is phenomenal, the band sounds great, and Ozzy isn't as terrible as on the last DVD. He actually surprises me on a few tracks that I didn't think he could still have the range for, that he did when it was originally recorded. The added 5 song studio tracks are awesome. All in all, I am glad I purchased this DVD and I am also sorry to see Black Sabbath retire. My favorite band of all time! Wicked World.... After forever.... Under the sun..... Hand of doom.... Rat Salad.... The Wizard.... ETC...... Sabbath Rules! ... show more

  • A powerful farewell.
So many bands limp away when it’s time. Sabbath kicked it up a few notches 🤘🏼

  • Awesome concert and bonus material!
This would be 5 stars if Bill Ward was on drums. Killer setlist plus the bonus Angelic Sessions is awesome! With that being said, this drummer is excellent and plays Ward's stuff pretty spot on. I just don't know how the dude contains himself while playing the final tour and show with 3 of the biggest legends in Heavy Metal history. Must have been pretty unreal for him considering he's probably half their age and no doubt grew up listenting to and playing all these songs. ... show more

  • Great concert !!!
Very good concert.......the first album has always been my favorite. Tommy Iommi is great on lead guitar, Geezer Butler is great on bass, Ozzy is a great vocalist and the drummer does a great job too. Iron man is my most favorite song on the second album.

  • Great sound - fabulous concert
Great sound - fabulous concert! I have a different opinion of this Blu-ray's sound quality... it's totally awesome! I think it's the best rock recording I've ever heard and wish all my rock CD's, DVD's, and blu-rays sounded this good. Special kudos for the bass mix. It's easy to follow the bass line even while the rest of the band is erupting in absolute mayhem. I can't believe these guys sound this good at this stage of their lives. I'm awestruck!!! ... show more
