  • Fits small jaws, too!
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I have a small jaw. One reviewer said it didn’t work for their small jaw, so I was hesitant to buy it. I tried it anyway, because my dentist recommended it to me. I’m so glad I did! The first time I tried to mold it, it didn’t fit right. So I tried it again, and it fit perfectly. I’ve been using it for about a week and a half now. It sits comfortably in my mouth, and I have no problems falling asleep. I bought it to prevent clenching of my teeth. Mild TMJ on one side with low pain in mid ear. Since I started using this, I no longer have any pain in my ear. I would recommend this. I bought another one for my husband, because he grinds his teeth. Hopefully, it will work just as well for him. ... show more

  • Doesn't fit small/petite mouth
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I am a very petite lady with small bone structure and small mouth/teeth/bite. My dentist recommended this brand so I purchased from Amazon at the sale price. 1) It was very hard to get this soft enough to squish on to my teeth/bite. I had to keep re-heating the bowl of water (mug is too hard to fit the item). 2) When it finally was near boiling water, I followed instructions (twice). Slid the guard into my mouth to create the teeth shaping. My front teeth weren't near the front plastic as they describe while my back teeth were in the goopy stuff and the hard plastic was pushing against my jaw muscles. I let it set and then pulled out. I thought the hard plastic would come away but it does not. The "tray" isn't really a tray like other brands. the rubber guard doesn't come out or off of the harder plastic section. So, when I put it back in to fit to the teeth, the back plastic was almost gagging me and the front teeth plastic was poking out of my lips. You know what they say about 1 size fits all... it's all bologna! A big man might find this a good guard to use, but for the smaller woman, you should look elsewhere. 1) there is no product refund guarantee. The guarantee on the box says that it will always fit...no offer for refund if it doesn't work. Only phone number to have someone help you try and try again. I can't get my $ back now... waste from my wallet. I've purchased another brand that hopefully will work for me and if not, they have a refund guarantee. ... show more

  • Great product!
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I love this night guard! I knew I had a problem with clenching my teeth at night, and my dentist recommended I buy a bite splint to help with any jaw pain I was experiencing. I didn't believe it would help but bought one anyway. The first bite splint I bought was impossible to sleep in. The fit wasn't right, and I couldn't adjust it easily. Because of this, I kept gagging and couldn't fall asleep. There was no way I was going to be able to sleep in it. The Doctor's NightGuard is different. It is very simple to mold, and the process is pretty quick and very easy. The fit on my teeth ends up being perfect and pretty comfortable. You still have to adjust to having a block of plastic surrounding your teeth, but it's.fairly thin, and I found it easy to adjust to. After wearing this night guard for a while, I learned I not only had a problem with clenching but with grinding, as well. How did I figure this out? Because I was wearing down the plastic! However, even after 1 1/2 - 2 years of almost nightly wear, I never broke through. The fit stayed great that entire time. I recently bought a new guard (same brand) due to a piece breaking off the back of the guard (the "gooey" innards went beyond the harder plastic edging since I have a small mouth). Don't worry, though - it wasn't something I could have choked on. I bit and played with that plasticky part, and then ripped it off with my hands. The instructions state that you can simply cut off these elongated pieces with a knife. ... show more

  • Not the best for me. Not enough protection. Not even.
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
This Doctor’s Advances mouth guard is shaped a little differently and is wider in the back than my usual guard. It touches the inside of my cheeks more in the back. Even trying to re-shape/re-molding them didn’t fix that issue. The front teeth section doesn’t have much cushion under the top teeth (between the top and bottom), and it doesn’t have much material to cover in front of the teeth, which feels strange at first. It feels like the “protection” is minimal and not as cushiony as other guards. The cushion in between the top and bottom - the portion that is supposed to cushion in between your upper and lower jaw when you bite down doesn’t have as much soft material. When you form the guard, and are biting down, the teeth go right to the bottom harder tray of the guard. So the cushion factor is minimal and you’re just biting on the firmer portion. The “cushion” area seems to only be for shaping around your teeth and not so much to extra-cushion your bite. The length of this guard is not too long for me. It doesn’t go past my back molars. It actually stops just before the last molars on each side start. (You are supposed to be able to trim off the back if it’s too long for you.) Although the tray stays on when I open my mouth, the back section lifts off, mostly one side. I couldn’t fix that issue. The other brand of guard I typically use doesn’t have these issues for me. I guess I already found the better product for me and will go back to that one. I have TMJ and mouth guards are a must have for me. But they can’t be too big or clunky and they have to allow my teeth to be cushioned to combat my night jaw clenching as well as keep my jaw from tweaking out of alignment. So the cushioning has to be even and properly form to my teeth. I started using guards nightly many many years ago when my dentist kept pushing me to use one. (Best thing I’ve done for my teeth/jaw!) I couldn’t go with the multi-hundred dollar one they offered, so I looked elsewhere. I used the guard for sleeping in last night. While I did get used to it as it stayed in place, it did mess up my jaw alignment a bit. Overall thoughts: I think this isn’t the best option out there, at least for ME. I don't think it would be great for those with medium to small mouths or those who really bite/clamp down their teeth while sleeping. While basically all guards say to check with a dentist or just not to use them if you have tmj or alignment issues, others other brands are ok for these issues but maybe not this brand/style. (If I don’t wear a guard, it’s worse for me.) Perhaps it’s best for those who only grind(?), not clamp down, and for people who have wider set jaws. (*The guard I’ve used for years, and will continue to use, is the Dentek full mouth/tray style guard. The full mouth style is what this one looks like, as opposed to those that only have the cushion for the back teeth.) ... show more
