  • Well worth the price
I have been battle very flighty steering and bump steer for about 2 years now on my 2010 JKU (non-Rubicon). I have replaced just about every component of my front steering over the last 18 months; u-joints, ball-joints, springs, shocks, tie rod, track bar, drag link, upper and lower control arms, all front and rear suspension bushings. Nothing really seams to help. These ball joints were part of a larger upgrade I did a few days ago. Here's the story on the ball joints: I bought some Moog ball joints to replace my well worn factory ones about 15 months ago. I never liked them. They felt very loose and my steering got worse and worse until I finally decided to bite the bullet and get these Terflex HD Ball Joints. I was originally a bit nervous about spending twice as much for ball joints, but I wish I had done so sooner. These HD ball joints came in the prettiest car parts box I have ever seen. It included easy to follow instructions with pictures. About the only thing that didn't come in the box that I would have liked to have seen was grease zerk covers, but I had some on hand. Installation was a breeze. After tearing down the front drive/steering, I pressed out the old ball joints. Then used a wire wheel in my drill to clean up all of the surfaces and remove any rust that was present. Then I greased both the ball joint and c-arm mating surfaces. The new joints pressed in nicely. It is worth noting that you should really read the details on how to position the lower ball joint so that the grease zerks are accessible; especially if you have RCV axles! Once the ball joints are pressed in, you need to reinstall the grease bushing on the upper ball joint. This can be a little tricky as the hole in the c-arm is deeper than the ball joint body in the back. I managed to get mine on by using a little bit of grease and then pressing and spinning the bushing until it had seated all the way around. Install the grease zerks, but don't grease them until you have reinstalled your steering knuckle. Once your steering knuckle is reinstalled and torqued down, throw in the cotter pins and grease the joints liberally. (I also replaced my axles, u-joints, hubs and bearings at the same time as I installed these ball joints). Once everything was back together, I took my rig for a spin and the difference was immediately noticeable. Initial results show no signs of flighty, wandering steering. Bump steer is gone. I will keep an eye on these new ball joints through the new break-in period and update this review if anything changes. But, as of right now, I couldn't be happier. So, if you are on the fence about whether or not to buy these TeraFlex HD Ball Joints, pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed! ... show more

  • best for the money
2010 jk. first time I've replaced ball joints in this jeep. passenger side tire was leaning in at about 3degrees negative camber, thought it was a bent c. steering wheel was way off center. had a vibration at 55 mph. cured every one of those issues. drives like the day we got it. fairly easy install with clear instructions. highly recommended. ... show more

Very happy. Tightened up my steering and made the car run solidly over bumps. Glad I went with these. Installed in 3 hours with the help of a friend and the right tools.
