I've wanted a drone for awhile now, especially after I flew my friend's $1000 drone. However, unlike him, I am not a professional and don't need anything too fancy like the goggles. I came across this on amazon and thought it seems like a good deal for the price and I was right! Set Up -This drone was pretty easy to set up. All I had to do was plug in the battery on the drone (already pre-charged), download an app on my phone, and connect them (by connecting to a wifi signal), and I was ready to fly! Usability -The drone is really easy to fly. It does a great job being in sync and its controls are great. This is likely because they highly recommend you geosync it every time before flight. Once you do that, which takes about 10-15 seconds, it is ready for take off! One thing to note is that if you are indoors, make sure you put it in indoor mode (hold GPS button for 5 seconds) or else it won't take off. Durability -The drone is very durable and pretty strong, great for beginners. Assuming you are relatively new to flying, you will likely crash your drone whether you hit a tree, wall, car or the ground. This drone is pretty strong and hasn't broken despite many crashes. It also comes with extra propellers in case you break or loose one or a few. Storage -Unlike most affordable drones, this is very easy to pack and store! You can fold it and it comes in a nice little carrying case so you won't risk breaking it in the closet or wherever you store it! You can also easily carry it around so it is convenient to take on trips or hikes. Overall, I would highly recommend this drone to anyone who is interested in playing around with drones and doesn't want to spend too much money. It is a great drone to learn how to fly and ease yourself into this technology. ... show more

The TSRC Q5 drone has exceeded my expectations with its blend of rich features and ease of use. I have tried out a couple of beginner drones and have always struggled to control them. But, flying the Q5 drone was a breeze. The setup process was very simple as well, the instructional video scanned from the QR code was really helpful to get started within 5 minutes. The controller is really nice with the option to mount the phone and I was able to get the drone flying comfortable in my first try. It has a decent battery life and comes with a spare battery. I really like the 1 key take off and landing. The picture clarity was really good and the adjustable lens was a nice add-on. It comes along with a nice carry-on pouch which is really compact and good for travel. I can haul this for all my outings. All in all, a fantastic starter drone at an affordable price. I have read the negative reviews and either I got very lucky and got one that wasn’t defective, or some of those reviewers didn’t follow the directions correctly. To be fair, the directions are a little bit convoluted and lacking but with some patience I was able to get it working. For this reason as well as I wish the phone holder was a little bigger, I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars. This is my first drone and I got it on Black Friday at a steep discount price of $87. I hadn’t really had the time to fly it outside until today and I was really impressed with it. It took very good quality pictures and videos and was relatively easy to control. I did try it inside a few times when I first received it and inevitably crashed a few times but it held up pretty well and showed no damage. It came with a generous amount of replacement blades as well as all accompanying hardware, including the screw driver. The carry case is of good quality also. As of now, I would have to say I’m very pleased with this unit and it has exceeded my expectations for the price. If my experience changes with subsequent use, I will update my review but for now, I give it a solid 4 stars. I would like to see a more comprehensive manual and flying tips and instructions though. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. To be honest, if I could give it 4.5 stars I would because it's not perfect, but for the money, it's darn close First, the PROS: This thing flies like a dream outside in calm weather. The controls are crisp and responsive. It'll hover in one spot for as long as the batteries last. The pictures and video are outstanding for the price. Not sure if the quality comes through in the pictures and video uploaded to Amazon for the review do the actual images and video justice, but trust me, they are very nice. It doesn't have gimbal stabilization like higher end drones such as DJI and others so you will experience some wobble when maneuvering, but when the drone is stationary, or rotating, it's very good. Better than I expected. I'm still learning to use some of the features, but so far, everything I've tried has worked as advertised. The video I included with this review shows the Cadillac, Michigan industrial park from 219 feet, at which point I chickened out from going any higher. At this altitude I had no signal loss, and the FPV on my phone was clear and unwavering as it is at 10 feet. It uses and SD card to save video and pictures, and/or you can save it directly to your phone. As of yet, I could see no difference in picture quality between SD card and the phone storage. The SD card I used was a 64Gig U3, and I had no issues with it The controller felt good in my hands, but this also leads me to the cons portion of this review. The CONS: Though the controller felt good in my hands, the phone holder is fixed at a bit of an angle, and I would like it to be angled back a bit more. Also, my phone kept slipping out of the holder. I fixed this by using a hair tie to secure the phone in place. I had to fidget with the WiFi to get the drone to connect with my phone. Sometimes I had to close the app, connect the WiFi again, then open the app, but I can't be certain that this process works all the time. It just seemed to work when it was good and ready. Once connected, it was rock solid. I don't recommend flying it indoors. I could get it under control, and it seemed as though it would hover or maintain position at all. You can see by one of the pictures the hazards of letting it get away from you in close quarters. I have a cheaper drone by TuzzyToy that is a piece of cake to fly indoors, and I was surprised that this one was such a handful. As I mentioned, it was steady as a rock outdoors. I hope I've given you enough to go on to help you decide on purchasing this one. It's a LOT of fun and very satisfying. I recommend holding off on cheaper drones and save your pennies for this one. This will be a great learning drone, before you decide to move up to the more expensive drones. Happy flying! ... show more
