Description

Revolutionizing the Way You Change Your Strings. String-Ties a remarkable new guitar accessory. Not only does String-Tie make changing strings easier than ever, it may actually improve the musical tone of a strummed or plucked guitar. What is STRING TIE? String Tie is made of Galalith (milk stone), a chemical free, natural polymer derived from milk. Each set contains 4 amber- colored beads, one per string. Follow the 6 easy step instruction diagram on the back and there you go you have changed strings in minimum time and effort, plus, your guitar bridge looks nice and clean. The main advantage of String Tie is strictly a professional matter: a standard knot creates a certain angle between the bridge and the nut. The String Tie makes a more acute angle and thus enhances the tension on the nut. This results in a sound which is significantly more affected by the guitar's sound board. Another case in which String Tie is extremely helpful is when players want to reduce action (i.e. the gap between the strings and the neck). The common way to do it is by lowering the nut. In some cases, this broadens the angle between the knot and the nut which may cause various problems. By using String Tie, an acute angle is maintained.

  • works on inside, too
Color: Ukulele Amber Color
I trust these against breaking way more than my ability to tie. I put these on an instrument that ties off inside the body (not behind the bridge as pictured) and they work fine. I was wondering if they would come undone or loosen as I pull them up to the interior wall of the front board, but they do not. ... show more

  • Work very well.
Color: Guitar Black Ebony
These are great for making stringing easier, reduces the denting on the bridge and is less visually busy. Have tried another and thinner strings can slip. So far these havenโ€™t. Gold logo is a little distracting, but I understand itโ€™s about branding. Sort of expensive, but a one time cost. Very clean look. ... show more

  • Very functional and easy mod for nylon string guitars
Very functional and easy mod for nylon string guitars. It really does increase the break angle over the saddle. This increases volume and clarity. The blocks also reduce, but do not eliminate the chance of string ends marring the finish behind the bridge. You need to be careful when you tie the strings, set the blocks, and trim the string end. I found that running the bridge string end through the front end of the bridge hole and then using the slack string to tie the block away from the guitar top prior to pulling up the slack and running the other end of the string through the tuner works well. Then you can tighten up the string and set the position of the block as the string tightens. I am able to set the blocks in an even and horizontal manner, hovering just above the sound board once everything is in place and tightened up. They look pretty good and are easy to tie, or loop through the block per the diagram that comes with the set of 6 blocks. I now have them on both of my medium grade classical guitars. ... show more

  • Just learn to tie strings properly
Color: Guitar Amber Color
Contrary to claims by the manufacturer, it does not really make restringing a guitar easier, and it definitely does not enhance or change to sound of your guitar. In fact, they make your guitar look strange. I bought these hoping to recommend to my students, but after using them, I now tell them just to learn how to tie their strings. The sound transfer through a traditional tie is much better. ... show more

  • Easier than with my fingers.
Liked the first five strings, but couldn't get the 6th to stay tuned. Took the guitar to a luthier (sp) and he recommended that during his service he would hand tie them. You bat 5 for 6 in the major leagues and you will be a rich man. Can't say I am not satisfied or satisfied, just an old guitarist. I pick up my guitar on Tuesday (It is now Friday afternoon) so I wil see then. ... show more

  • Adds more responsiveness to C. Guitar top. Cuts string change time in 1/2
This is an awesome product, It cuts my string-changing time in 1/2! This product really does add a little more responsiveness to the solid-cedar top of my Classical Guitar (Takamine C132S). Of course, I know how to tie the knot with nylon (or carbon) strings at the bridge, and...why. These String-Ties presents a nice uniform appearance, make my guitar top noticeable more responsive and allow me time to spend that critical 45 minutes getting the strings stretched and up to pitch instead of chewing up my fingernails tieing the strings. I was first introduced to this product @ Strings by Mail. I do love SBM, yet I can get this product faster & cheaper through Amazon (Prime) ... show more
