I have a basement bar that is only plumbed with cold water. I wanted to add hot water for cleaning up after parties or doing the bar dishes in the bar instead of having to lug them upstairs, wash them, forget to take them down, go down to make a drink, not have what I need, remember they are upstairs, go back upstairs, haul them back down to the bar and repeat the process after I make a drink. I just don't have the glutes for all those steep stairs at my age. This water tank is easy to install, heats just the water I need, and fits easily under my bar sink. This heats not quite instant, but certainly very quickly. I am just happy that it saves in energy going up and down the stairs, as well as having to run water from the basement water heater back up the stairs before the water starts being hot. This really is a great tankless water heater. It took me a while to plumb the 220V electric power supply to one of the bathrooms that I wanted to put the tankless water heater in but after everything was done it was great.     • Decent tankless water heater
I think most of the tankless water heaters in this price range are pretty much the same. When you're dealing with electric tankless water heaters you're dealing with heavy power consumers that are heating your water on demand. Keep in mind if you're running solar or if you're planning on putting this in a camper van or RV that you need to make sure your system can handle 6,500 Watts with ease. Otherwise you'll find your lights dimming or your system shutting down every time you trying run your water. Outside of that the heater itself heats your water up when you need it hot. The system is easy to flush and descale and you should do that every 3 to 6 months. With proper care and maintenance it should last a pretty long time. We have a half-bath that is not connected to hot water. How this happened is beyond us - we bought it that way (1990s era build). So for a long time we went without any hot water in that bathroom, until we came across this sleek, low-profile hot water heater. The unit fits perfectly and snugly under the sink cabinet. The only catch was running electricity under the sink. Once we were able to accomplish that, then we were rockin' and rollin'. Still skeptical, we set the heater to a warm temperature which you can toggle on the controls on the unit. Turning on the hot water, it took just a second for it to deliver, and when it did, it was warm and gradually warmed up, just like a normal hot water served faucet would. ... show more

    • If Possible, This Unit is PERFECT!
I have nothing to say negatively about this unit. It is actually quite attractive and seems to be very well constructed. It was easy to mount and took very little effort. The controls are working great and provide a good range of temperature settings to provide what you need when you need it. Mine is installed upstairs, far away from the basement installed water heater, and this is so much better than running the water for several minutes before getting anything close to warm.
