  • This product is amazing! Highly recommended.
Size: Small Color: Mahogany
I am really pleased with this purchase. It is a fantastic idea for many reasons. In my case, I'd bought a Taylor GS Mini guitar to use as my couch guitar. Unfortunately, the edges of the guitar body come together at a sharp right angle, which really hurt my right arm as I played. (When shopping for it, I noticed that quite a few acoustic guitars are made that way now.) I was ready to return the guitar, which I really didn’t want to do. I did some googling to see if there was anything out there to solve this problem for me. I saw things you could stick to the guitar such as wood armrests, but that seemed a bit extreme, since I read they could be difficult to remove if you changed your mind. Then I read about this product and saw the potential and figured why not try it before I returned the guitar? Great news--it totally solved the problem, the guitar is super comfortable to play now and I can enjoy it without pain. I am so happy! It totally relieved the pressure on my forearm from that sharp edge and now I don't have those deep indentations from the edge either. I use it without the suction cups since I'm just sitting and the SAB doesn't move around at all. It's nice to have the with or without suction cup option--very well thought out. And it doesn't feel obtrusive either, just nice and cushioned. You forget it's there, which is nice. I purchased the small size, and it fits around the GS bout perfectly. I like to push mine back a bit from the way it's pictured since the guitar body is very small, and it seems to hug the curve of the lower bout regardless of where it is placed. I plan on buying a few more for my other guitars, since I've noticed recently that my forearm gets a bit sore after playing on all of my guitars. I am so grateful that Saddle-A-Bout exists and that the inventor realized there was a need and then solved the problem. Thank you so much! ... show more

  • Classy comfort and protection.
Size: Large Color: Mahogany
The medium size fits my Taylor perfectly, and so I purchased a large for my '72 Martin D-28. Nice fit there as well. When I sent a message that one of my suction cups didn't hold as tightly as the other, I was sent two more. One of which, although the very same item, seems to hold much better. And the "saddle" is great with or without the holding. ... show more

  • Large seam
Size: Large Color: Dark Brown/Spruce
I found using the leather cover draped over the guitar angle worked better. Mainly because having the rubber of the suction cups touching my inner arm I was aware of the rubber tabs of the suction cups. So I used the leather piece without the suction cups. Definitely there was less pain in my inner arm where my right arm rests on the edge/ binding upper part of guitar. Another down side is the leather piece is sewn together. The point where one piece of leather is sewn to the other piece of leather sets on the binding/edge where my arm is having the pain. Trouble is the sticch/ seam where the two pieces of leather are sewn is a large seam. The large seam I find bothers my arm. I think make the whole leather piece one configuration, no seam. And use some kind of Dycem / non skid material where the leather sets on the body of the guitar Probably be fine for other people, my arm may be just too sensitive. Im 59 yo, losing the muscle in my arm causing my nerves in my arm not to have the buffer ... show more

  • I like it
Size: Small Color: Dark Brown
Edges sit odd because of the seams, but I like. Definitely more comfortable than not having one. Small fits around a 4-inch guitar. Bigger would be too big.

  • Great Product - But The Suction Cups Are Worthless
Size: Large Color: Mahogany
I bought this for my acoustic bass guitar which has a satin finish. The included suction cups may work fine on a gloss finished guitar but on the satin finish, they just would not hold. I ended up using four of the Command brand wall hanging strips - two large for the guitar bout and two smaller ones for the front and back flaps. These double sided strips worked great! Instead of the lumpy suction cups under the leather, the armrest now fits flat against the guitar body and is comfortable. So even though the suction cups didn't work, I'm giving the product 5 stars. ... show more

  • Have to give it a 5 - updated 12/2023
Size: Medium Color: Dark Brown
How can you not rate this 5 stars? Even without suction cups it does the job intended. I have nitro finish and I take it off after each use. A rag would likely work fine but this looks better. Well sewn and put together. Heed the sizes and get the proper fit. I own 3. Update: I"ve owned at least one for a few years (I have 3 and gave one as a gift) without any issues other than suction cups coming out. You can wind some string/dental floss around the nub. You can put a slit in the suction cups intentionally to keep it from sticking. I don't want mine to stick and just use them to help grip and keep it from sliding off. They should not be left on a nitro finish and they don't stick to my satin finish for very long anyway. If you are considering an arm rest like the John Pearce, this is not exactly what you are looking for. Typical armrests are more for allowing the top to vibrate more and is held in place either by double-sided tape or even screws on other brands. This is for sweaty guitar players like myself who (even with regular wipe-down) leave sweat stains in the finish. If I'd known about these when the guitar was new I'd have bought them before the 1st strum. Updated 12/2023: So I used gorilla glue (flexible type) on the suction cups. Works great for about 6 months now on all three of mine. Just ensure they are seated properly and ring the edge with the glue to the leather. Dries clear, and has not pulled out yet. I would imagine if you ever needed to replace the suction cups you could use an exacto knife or a drill to take out the old one and re-glue the new. Hope this solves the problem. ... show more

  • Great product.
Size: Large Color: Dark Brown
My arm is mangled from an injury and surgery, and there's no meat left right where I rest it on the corner of the body of the guitar. It f-ing hurts after playing for just a few minutes. I was using a sweat band on my elbow as a cushion but it kept moving around and not staying where I needed it. Then I found this thing, and now all my guitars wear them. They stay where u put them but can be easily repositioned, and the leather is thick enough that my meatless arm is comfortable resting against it. So glad I found these. ... show more

  • Ok, but the suction cups come off easy
Size: Small Color: Dark Brown
The suction cups should be made to be more permanent on the product.
