  • Better than the Victsing that won The Hook Up's budget projector test
I'd watched the YouTube channel "The Hook Up"'s review of 10 projectors under $100 and decided to buy the Victsing model that was the winner. But, it was out of stock on Amazon. Walmart showed it in stock, though, so I ordered one there. Turns out it had to ship from China, and I was itching to try a projector out, so I ordered this one to play with while I waited. I assumed that once the Victsing arrived, I would find it to be better than this Tenker and I'd return this. The two projectors are very similar. The on-screen menus are slightly different but clearly based on the same firmware. The remotes are identical, and the Tenker remote actually worked perfectly to operate the Victsing. But it was clear to me that this Tenker is better. I was somewhat skeptical of Tenker's claims of this being native 1080p, but now I believe it. It is very noticeably sharper than the Victsing, which claims native 720p. The brightness was about the same between the two, and you really need a perfectly dark room, but I found the color and contrast of this Tenker to be better. Not radically better, but slightly. So, with nearly identical menus/functionality, a sharper image, and slightly better color and contrast, the Tenker is the clear winner for me. On top of that, it was actually $20 cheaper than the Victsing. This is my first projector and I'm shocked at how good of a 120" picture I'm getting from this thing for so little money. My TV is a 77" Sony A80J OLED and of course this pales in comparison to that, but for movies, a 120" screen is hard to beat. The only negative thing I can say about this is the fan is noticeably louder than the one in the Victsing. Not too noticeable in action movies, but you will notice it during quieter movies. Also, the optical keystone correction causes a noticeable change in focus near the top and bottom of the screen near the ends of its travel, so you'll need to position this at a height pretty close to the center of your screen. Note: my photos show an approximately a 120" picture and it's actually being projected onto a medium-brown wall there, not white. ... show more

  • Amazing Projector
I put up a projector and screen on our deck for outdoor movie nights many years ago. I just replaced the 5 year old projector with this one and I can not believe how great it is! Two of the pictures I included are outdoors in daylight - though the screen is shaded, it was still very bright outside and the picture was very clear and totally watchable. Once dusk rolled around though, WOW was this something! Upgrading to full 1080p made a huge difference, and the color balance is s WAY better than my old projector. Such a great deal too, hard to believe you can get this much of a great projector for so cheap! ... show more

  • Lackluster image quality, AMAZING value
This projector is a very good value for the cost but it doesn't come anywhere close to more premium projectors in terms of image quality, build quality, and features. Pros: -Native 1080p for under $100 (very few projectors have this) -Light weight -Easy to setup and use -Good brightness in a relatively dark room -Good selection of input types -Includes a remote -Turns on very quickly Cons: -No horizontal keystone correction -The focus adjuster and vertical keystone don't rotate smoothly -Image is not very sharp even when properly focused -IR receiver for the remote is located in the back so the remote doesn't work consistently if the projector is located behind you -The pitch of the fan noise is quite high (although not too loud for a projector) -The power cable is very short -Mediocre quality plastic/build quality -Bad speakers -Only 1 HDMI port The only item that I actually would expect to be better at this price is the focus adjustment knob. I purchased this projector for casual viewing of YouTube, Twitch, and movies from bed. The main reason I selected a projector instead of a TV is because I wanted a screen size of at least 60 inches for under $200. I'm not particularly worried about visual quality due to the type of content I will be watching and because I probably won't be wearing my glasses anyway (this is the reason for wanting a large screen size). I definitely would not use this projector for watching movies for the first time or watching anything that I want to be able to see the details very clearly. All things considered I'm still giving five stars due to the incredible value for the money. ... show more

  • Best gift I got myself this year!
The media could not be loaded. I’m no A/V nerd, but I’m pretty sure this is the best projector under $100 that you can get. It says not for presentations, but I’ve been using it with my laptop and never even look at my screen anymore. The resolution is better on the projector than it is on my monitor. Is that possible? This has the standard drawbacks of needing to be in low light for the best experience, and when I have it projected into my whiteboard there’s a small glare where the light hits the glossy surface, but I’m sure I could get rid of that if I played with the angle, and it’s a non-issue on semi-gloss wall paint. I love that I basically have whatever sized TV I want in a portable little box, with better sound than my laptop! My current setup has the projector about 2 meters from the whiteboard and the clarity is great. It would be slightly improved half a foot closer, but cable lengths prevent that for me. I’ve never used a projector before but it was basically plug & play with the HDMI cable and my laptop. Disney+, Peacock, and YouTube all stream without issues. If I get a Lightning-to-hdmi cable I’ll update my review. ... show more
