Description

This is THE BEST camber/caster gauge on the market. It uses the same wheel attachment parts that are used on $30k+ alignment racks, and is accurate to within 0.1 degrees. The cheap bubble level gauges can not come close to the accuracy of this tool, and your alignment is not something you want to skimp out on! This product makes it very easy to measure camber whether you are at the track or in your garage. As an additional bonus, caster is measured without the need for turn plates. Perfect for: -Increasing your camber for track use -Dialing in different camber settings on a race car -Measuring caster without turn plates -Saving money!!! Camber Measurement - The digital readout is accurate to within 0.1 degrees, and the gauge can be calibrated for non-level surfaces in a matter of seconds. Caster Measurement - Instead of requiring expensive turn plates to measure caster (like other brands), our product has turn plate functionality built in! • Accurate and educational
It's awesome buy it now. Notice the pics make it look like it is free standing or can stand on it's own but it actually can't. Would be nice if it could so you could zero the digital gauge while it stands level. The other version of this product and i think this one as well tells you to zero the digital gauge on a long piece of metal that they don't provide, but it's not really clear where you should place this metal. Behind tire? In front? On sides? I know gauge must be zeroed in the same direction you plan to use it. No matter which version of the product you're using, the way you zero the gauge should be the same or one way should be better. Either way, i was easily able to get accurate and repeatable camber measurements, i never adjusted caster as my car doesn't. The only thing that will throw you off is you're not on the most level part of your floor and measure there every time or at least at a part you know is level. Use your big level from home or hardware store and find the levelest area. You may not have slip plates so you measure, adjust, roll car to and fro to settle suspension, re-zero gauge, then remeasure. Do all that on the levelest area of your smoothest floor. ... show more

  • Works great be careful with the hooks
Measured camber only so far. One side was dead on and other off 0.05 compared to the machine at the alignment shop. That is with holding them against the wheel without the hooks…the hooks are useless imo and scratched my rims. Very easy to use and repeatable results.

  • REALLY easy to use, repeatable results, nothing else needed
Nicely made, clever design, the "built in turn plate functionality" is brilliantly simple, makes measuring caster very easy. You really do not need turn plates. This is one of those tools that looks a whole lot like competing tools, but once you actually use it the differences become clear and it's worth the extra bucks. I didn't find the "hands-free" aspect to be necessary -- for any similar tool design it's only going to be helpful if you can actually adjust camber with the wheel on the car and the car on the ground -- but this tool is designed to be hand-held _or_ to attach, and it's so easy to use hand-held that there are no point off for this. Again this is a case of "once you use it you'll see...". If you want to be absolutely sure you're placing the tool in exactly the same place on the wheel each time, one small piece of blue tape to mark where the top pad should touch the rim and you're done. Mostly even this isn't important (I didn't understand this until I actually used the tool). Because of the design and the electronic gauge, the floor only needs to be reasonably flat (so it's not tweaking how the car sits), but not perfectly level. This tool is bulky, and although it looks like it might be collapsible, in reality it's not. So it's bulky to store. As with the 1100p toe plates I felt the need to spend 5 minutes with a deburring wheel, but that's mostly my OCD. If $$ or storage space are a concern (and you don't already have a set of toe plates), I'd consider the 3300p combination camber/caster/toe plates. They also have the "turn plate"/wheel angle feature, and based on using this tool and the 1100p toe plates I'd expect the 3300p to be very nearly as easy to use as this tool and (with some care) equally accurate. The big difference is that when measuring caster/camber with the 3300p you need to take care that you're holding the tool perpendicular to the wheel face as well as vertical or horizontal. With this tool's three contact points you're automatically aligned to the wheel face. ... show more

  • Don't hesitate. Just buy it.
This is a fantastic setup. If you want to do toe and goes (most cars) just get the toe plates. If you have the funds I would recommend some turn plates to make it easier. And remember to center the steering wheel first, and last. XD. I got so excited I set toe and forgot to make sure it was perfectly on center the first time. XD. ... show more

  • Hands free version is pointless
The gauge has to be moved so much during the measurement, the hands free option is pretty much pointless. Adding a 15 degree angle to both ends of the lower brace would make it so the gauge could remain in place while conducting the caster measurement. This setup has the 15 degree angle only on the top of the gauge which forces you to remove and point in the proper direction to get your wheel angle. ... show more

  • You'll figure it out..
I thought about sending it back at first, it took awhile to wrap my head around what I was attempting to do (a 4 wheel alignment on an 87 Vanagon Syncro) but once I figured out the correct procedure and consulted my Bentley service manual on how to make the correct changes it got really easy. It's not rocket science.. You can do this!! I'm with others, the hands free option using the fingers isn't necessary as you are making multiple adjustments and I don't think the fingers do that great of a job of repeatable placement. Much easier to gently hold to the wheel without the fingers installed, in fact (satisfactory) instructions urge you toward this method. ... show more

  • Works great. Caster is a bit tricky to calculate
Works great. Caster is a bit tricky to calculate, but camber has been very easy to adjust. Makes playing with settings very easy to do. Pair it off with a good set of toe plates and you can do your own alignments. Disclaimer. I'm using this on a rwd mustang with no rear adjustments, so it's much easier ... show more

  • Super easy to use and very accurate!
After setting my alignment with this device I went to a local shop with a calibrated Hunter alignment rack and for $25 they will throw it on and give me a printout. The camber values were spot on with the alignment rack! The caster not so much but I am not surprised given that measurement is hard to do accurately without decent turn plates so... I have no caster adjustment anyway so this is really good for setting camber, and for that it is very easy and accurate. So if you also want to set caster, you will want a good set of turn plates, then it should work well for that also. ... show more
