conductor material is high quality, the price is hard to beat, and if you are wanting a cable that is flexible/maneuverable this style of welding cable is what you need. How flexible is it? Well the order of 15ft of 2 ga both red/black came all coiled up similar to a coil springs appearance, it was no wider than my hand in diameter and about 9" tall! again that was for the combo of red/black, so 2, 2 AWG 15' cables can be wound up in a circle with a diameter of less than 6 inches! If you need something more flexible than that well I don't even want to know what you are attempting to do 😂 As many are likely buying for battery cables, there is no turns you could come across that this couldn't navigate! This will also make for great jumper cables, as the flexibility means it will store away in a much smaller profile than many of the store bought cables. I am likely going to make some this winter, as my old cables have always been a complete hassle to store neatly, and those don't have nearly the capacity as this cable would! If I can come up with a con, it would be(maybe) the insulation is very soft and pliable, feels great, but I would be hesitant to leave the cables naked, as it feel like they could chafe easily in a automotive enviroment. I don't know that they actually would, just more of a feeling. Since I was also going to be running this near the engine, the slightly lower heat rating than SGX Battery cable was also on my mind. this shouldn't have any issue with the majority of cases, I just always have the prepare for the worst mindset.. so I covered the cable with Insultherm sleeving to give it great abrasion resistance and heat protection, and then over that used red colored expandable braid so that it it added a bit of visual appearance as well as should help draw attention to its location as I rerouted cables through areas that would not be as common, and in the unlikely event that a shop ends up doing some work on my vehicle, this should help to avoid any accidental damage due to not being easily visible. is this necessary?... no probably not, but I like to do things in an OCD meticulous type manner, the added protection is peace of mind, and look great too! ... show more

Works well with my inverter. I noticed that it was quite shiny on the ends when cut which made me think it might be copper-clad aluminum, so I tried the lighter test and it did not melt, which means it's pure copper.

This is not a sponsored review, but I am compelled to contribute a positive review for this product, and provide positive feedback for TEMCO, as a company. TEMCO's 4/0 cable is one of the better, if not the best, battery/welding cables that I have used! It is made of pure copper and while nearly impossible to count the number of strands of conductors, it appears to have the appropriate number of conductors for its rated ampacity. I have used this cable in a solar project at my personal residence, specifically to terminate the connection between the battery banks and the bus bar. The cables have been in use for just a bit over 6 months carrying currents up to 300 amps with 100% reliability. The construction of the cables are sturdy, yet flexible enough to maneuver inside the battery rack and junction box. And while there are other high quality brands of battery/welding cables to choose from, TEMCO stands behind their product and will issue a full refund, to include shipping costs both ways, up to 1 year from purchase. The high quality nature of the product combined with this level of commitment to their products made it an easy decision to choose this battery/welding cable from TEMCO. For many hardware and hardware accessory needs, I will first look to TEMCO to see if they have the product, before considering other brands. Other TEMCO products that I own and use include their lug crimper tool, 10AWG solar cables, MC4 connectors, MC4 spanner tools, battery lugs, butt splice connectors, and cable stripper bushings - all of which have worked flawlessly. I definitely recommend TEMCO as a brand, and can personally attest to their product quality, for the products that I listed above. ... show more

Got the 2/0 awg at 10' each red and black. It was right on qt 10' and feels like quality wire. Crimps wells with a hydraulic crimper. Insulating jacket is thick and the wire is decently flexible for being so thick.

Used a single Run of this 4/0 AWG to power a 3kw pure sine wave Inverter in a commercial truck. Worked OK for a while. But was pulling too much current threw the 3/8 in battery terminal. So I did another run on The other pair of batteries. So now it seems to power the Inverter without the heat generated on the battery terminal. DYI truckers spread the load across all of your batteries with separate fusing on every positive run. As close to the power source. Use wire loom, firewall grommets & marine grade heat shrink on the terminals. ... show more
