Ordered the 10' and should have been taller as it can reach 8' but not to climb over like on a roof. Once you extend it out and put on the proper angle it is just long enough to reach 8' but not much over. The ladder does work pretty smooth and has a solid feel but does sage because of the sections. Once you get use to that it is solid. The finish is good and al the latches for releasing the sections all work well and found no problems with the operation. Because it gets bigger at the bottom the feet are very stable and stay good on the ground. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I like this more than I thought I would. I was a bit surprised how lightweight it was (just under 20 lbs.) compared to my other ladders ... but if you have a small garage or not much storage space, you need this ladder! It performs fantastic ... holds a lot of weight ... and is incredibly easy to set up and take down! I am 6'4 and 250 lbs. and while it is not the sturdiest ladder I have ever used, it holds my weight and isn't so shaky that I feel scared to climb to the top. It does have some give when extended, especially in the middle when climbing it, but not so much it would keep me from purchasing one. The thing I am the most fearful of is the plastic connectors at the side failing, which could be catastrophic, but they seem pretty well made ... although this is not a ladder you want to throw around or treat like you would an industrial tool. It takes literally only a few seconds to fully extend the ladder and anyone can do it ... you don't have to be strong. To close the ladder takes a little more time ... less than 30 seconds ... but you want to make sure both fingers are on the slide tabs and your fingers are clear of the area in between. Each section collapses quickly into the other and will pinch anything in between the rungs as they move downward. I really was amazed at how easily this sets up and comes down. It has a securing strap to ensure the ladder doesn't slide open. It would be nice if there was a carry handle on top. The only complaint about this is that it can be awkward to carry when folded. Certainly, most people will be able to lift it, at under 20 lbs. I wear a size 12 shoe and the rungs are a little more narrow than I am used to stepping on ... but they work. Overall, I am very pleased with this. For really heavy duty jobs ... or jobs which require stability and no tall wall is available, I will use my more industrial ladder, which is really heavy and awkward to store. Honestly, between the two of them ... I'd choose this. It's not quite the quality you'd buy at the big home improvement store, but good enough to handle the average home handyman's tasks for around the house. My only regret is that the 12.5 foot version vs. the 10 foot version. I hope my video, photos and honest review after using the product was helpful to you. ... show more

I have used this ladder to get on my roof to cleaning gutters, it works great and love how compact it telescopes down to. This is my first telescoping ladder, and I am happy to say that I am impressed! The ladder is compact, it is easy to extend and retract. I like that the ladder can also be used partially extended and is versatile up to the maximum 10 foot 6 inch length. This is my second telescoping ladder. I've really enjoyed this ladder. The feet are very heavy rubber and give it a good hold on the ground. There is a strap that will keep the ladder from extending accidentally while in storage or while I'm carrying it. It only weighs 19 pounds so it's easy to move. The ladder should be extended from the bottom up. IE - don't pull up the top 3 or 4 rungs up. Start at the bottom and extend until it's the right height or all the way up. This is much easier if you walk backwards as you extend it. There are two push levers for each rung. You push them in and the segment above it collapses to 1 inch above the push levers. Be Careful! The rungs above the levers come down fast and the more there are the more force the exert. It also helps to lean the ladder backward so the rungs don't come down as quickly. I'm a big man but the ladder felt sturdy under me. There is a little sway at full length. When it's collapsed it's easy to carry under my arm and store in the garage. Getting it into the garage or house is very much easier than getting the one piece ladders inside. The price seems right too. ... show more

Wow, I'm impressed with this ladder! What a cool concept, great for those who need a ladder but have a small amount of storage space to keep them or need to travel anywhere with one. It is very light for a ladder and it is a bare bones ladder, the steps are not wide like A frame ladders but it is plenty sturdy for the things you would need a lean against ladder for. This Soctone Telescoping Ladder is so compact and extends up to 10.5 FT! The aluminum construction makes it less than 20 lbs and easy to carry around. The nylon strap buckle also secures the ladder in the collapsed state when transporting. The ladder has a plastic grip under the 2nd rung to keep it comfortable on your hand instead of feeling the step rung edges when carrying it. The smart locking pins audibly click into place as you extend the ladder. It extends smoothly and easily. I like that you can use it at any height, all the way up to it's full extension. The listed maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs. I extended it all the way and rested it against the house(see pictures). I could feel a little flex when climbing up if I bounced a lot with heavy steps. Other than that, it feels pretty stable and the anti-slip rubber feet worked well on the grass. Extension ladder is much lighter than my old one. Pretty sturdy feel to it. The locking mechanism is easy to use. Ladder folds down short for easy storage.
