    • Great design: ladder is stowed under the platform and provides 4 steps.
This ladder provides 4 steps without taking up space on the swim platform. It is tucked under the platform and leaves the top surface clear of hazards. In my case, I removed the spring to make the ladder easier to stow. The spring is not needed on the water, but I would use a bungee for trailering. VERY satisfied! ... show more

    • Ladder bent after third use
After first couple uses the ladder bent and pinched the groove the ladder uses to slide back into to store. Was unable to get the ladder stored and had to tie the ladder up with a rope to get back to the dock. Still not sure if we will be able to salvage the ladder or will have to scrap it. Seems to be a bad design or metal is not strong enough. Was not used by anybody over 230 lbs. ... show more

    • it is strong and it stores completely hidden under the swim platform
My swim platform has cross member framework underneath which lined up with the assortment of holes on the ladder. It is completely hidden but easy to deploy. I like the 4 rungs and they all collapse together and store with a push in and lift giving it a very positive fit.

Attach easily to a flat swim platform on boat to give you four steps that even a 300 lb person can climb. Sturdy.

Wished it was longer. Needed another step below the last rung to make it easier to get out of the water when attached below floor of pontoon.

    • Good solid ladder but could be improved on
I got this ladder for a swim platform I built for my boat. To complete the platform I needed a longer ladder than what was originally on the boat. The original was, in my opinion, too short to being with and this platform sits about 6" higher than the original so a longer ladder was a definite. I had contemplated using an over the top mount which would have been simple to install but then you are left with the brackets on the top where someone in bare feet could potentially cut their foot. I looked at under mount types and settled on this one primarily based on price since they all appeared to be about the same. The ladder seems well constructed, has a good weight rating and operates smoothly. There are two things I do have issues with however. The first is that it uses a bungee cord set up to keep the ladder retracted when not in use. Many of the ladders sold have this but I'm not a fan of it since it tends to get caught between the ladder and the frame when stowing the ladder and it's already become frayed after a few uses. It will break shortly (replacing it won't be a huge issue) but it's not going to last long. Some ladders I've seen since are spring loaded and have a metal tab locking arrangement that keeps the ladder retracted and this is a much better system. The other thing I had issue with is the mounting. As I wanted to keep the top of the platform where you stand as free from obstructions as possible I bolted this from the top down. With this ladder there isn't a lot of clearance between the ladder itself and the frame when the ladder is stowed but enough to get a washer and nut on each bolt on all but the very last hole at the face of the platform. To stow the ladder it has to be tilted up as you are sliding it in. This means the little clearance that between the ladder and frame is even less which resulted in corner of the ladder hitting the nut and preventing it from being able to slide in. I should have considered this before I mounted it but if they had provided a bit more clearance by providing a slightly taller frame it wouldn't have been an issue. This left me with two choices, bolt this last hole from the bottom up and put the nut on the top of the platform (ugly, cut your foot, etc.) or grind the nut on the bottom down slightly to get enough space to have the ladder clear it when putting it back in. I chose the latter method but another half inch between the ladder and frame and this would not have been required. Overall I'm pretty happy with the ladder. I have found others now that address both issues I mentioned but they are about 3 times the price so I guess you get what you pay for. ... show more

    • Good telescoping ladder
I requested to try out this ladder as a means to provide access to a platform next to my swimming pool. I wanted to be able to close the ladder to prevent children from being able to access the platform when not in use. The ladder works well and was easy to install. It is very sturdy and strong.
