  • Surprisingly easy to put together
My husband and I looked for a few weeks for a new desk/table. He has mobility issues and sits in his recliner most of the time. He needed something with storage and something that could be made movable (he moves his table to the side when not using in for his laptop or to eat on). I replaced the "feet" with casters. The instructions were surprisingly detailed. The pieces were all labeled, which was a great help. I did have to call someone for help as I got to the bigger pieces. One hole broke through, but shouldn't cause a problem. I used wood glue for almost every hole just as an added precaution. So far it seems to meet his needs. The finish is very nice. ... show more

  • A minor set back, but overall great product
Too Long, Didn’t Read (TLDR): Rated 4 stars because the two rails for the left side of the drawers was covering the hole on the panel and I had to drill a hole to make it work. They key is being gentle and having patience. Read instructions Helpful tip: make sure Cam bolts are aligned. Reason why I gave 4 star: I gave a 4 star because the two rails for the left side of the drawers was covering the hole on the panel, so I had to drill a small hole where I needed to place the screw. If it wasn’t for the power tool, I would gently hammered it with a nail to make the hole small enough for the screw to set in. For me it was an easy fix, for others it may be a hard task since not everyone has a drill, which is another reason why I gave it a 4 stars. The key to assembling this desk is being gentle and having patience, especially if you are building it on your own. I used a power tool and a regular size screwdriver to help as well since it got to a point where it was hard to do it manually with the small screwdriver. Use the power tool gently and sparingly, if you don’t know how to push the trigger softly, you might overtighten and cause damage to the wood. It does take some gentleness to screw in well into the holes since they are smaller than the screws, some of the wood will chip off since it is a tight fit, those parts that chip off will not be seen once fully assembled. If it chips off, don’t worry about it, but DO NOT widen the holes, they are meant to be tight so the assembly is sturdy. I manually screwed it in, then used the power tool to tighten just before the rest of the screw went all the way in, and finished off manually. The instructions are simple. When installing the rails, be sure to read, look and compare carefully at the pictures in the booklet, I almost installed the rails backwards for the drawers and that would have been a mess. Same goes for the keyboard rail and the slide panel rail. Make sure you take the time to read before assembling. If so could I would have given a 4.5. Besides that, I love my new desk. A helpful tip, before lining up the Cam bolts with the Cam locks, you want to make sure the Cam lock is aligned well, so when you insert the cam bolt, it is easier and you don’t make the mistake to bang it thinking it is not going in. Use good lighting and you will see if the cam bolt is well aligned or not. ... show more

  • Good customer service
The desk looks very nice but had a couple of glitches but got it all worked out and the missing part was shipped, and I had to clue one of the support insets in as it was stripped out and needed to be glued to keep it in place. Lower than my other computer table so it is taking some getting use to the new height. ... show more

  • The Perfect Desk
I don't write that many product reviews. But after saying "I'm pretty impressed with this desk" a few times, I figured I should. I got this desk for my teenage son. He has a computer and playstation. He also needed a space to do homework. I picked this desk because it was larger than many of the other student desks I saw online and in the stores. So it's not one of those tiny student desks, but also not a big corporate one. First, the desk ships in 2 boxes. It's apparently a common issue for the delivery driver to only deliver 1 box and forget the other. The boxes are labeled to stay together so I can't put that issue on the desk maker. And we did have that problem. Fortunately both boxes got delivered the same day. 1 in the morning, 1 in the evening. The boxes were actually easy to open! They are shoebox style so it was just running a knife around the tape and lifting it off. All the parts were labeled mostly in order of the instructions. There were a couple where part 7 was used after part 10, but for the most part they went in order. The instructions were very clear, everything went together pretty easily. They even pre-install the locking cogs although a few fell out upon unpacking. Still, it was a bit of a timesaver. Also, this desk fully assembles with just a Phillips head screwdriver which they include. Nothing else is needed and no allen wrenches. However I do recommend using a drill or driver. It makes the process way easier and faster. There is also 1 step where using the included screwdriver is nearly impossible. I needed a longer screwdriver to complete that one. Once assembled, the desk is nice and sturdy. It has a decent amount of weight to it but also isn't too heavy. All of the levels to it came in very handy. I found a place to put the power strip but keep it out of the way, the playstation fit on the slide out shelf on the left, headphones on the shelf to the right. (Although I'm going to add a hook for the headphones, there is nice hanging space for that.) The drawers are small, but good for holding games and extra controllers. The posts on the little elevated platform came in handy for tying phone charger and headphone extensions to. That way they stayed put were still easy to get to. The designers also thought ahead when it came to the place for the computer tower. The inside wall of that space doesn't go all the way back. That way you can just pull the computer out slightly to get to the cables on the back without having to pull the entire thing out. This is huge as cables for computers are often not long enough to do that. And there are holes on both sides to run cables through. My son is really happy with it. He even picked this one over a fancy "gaming" desk that had built in power and light up stuff. This desk is function over form. But actually, it has some form too. It is more expensive than many others of a similar size. I paid $169 in Feb 2020 but it was totally worth it. You do get what you pay for. ... show more
