  • Easy upgrade
Capacity: 480GB Style: Vulcan Z
I had a failed HD in my wife's laptop. It was a 240GB Intel SSD that probably had a bad controller since the data was there but it was nearly impossible to access any of it. Not worth the effort to resurrect so I got this 480GB drive for cheap and ordered a dram chip for the vacant memory slot. Cheap, easy, and fast upgrade doubling the memory and HD. ... show more

  • Speeds up an old computer
Capacity: 480GB Style: Vulcan Z
Wow, what a difference a drive makes. I have an older HP Probook with 16 GB memory. The processor is not the fastest. Once I formatted the drive and installed Windows 10 Pro--similar to my old drive--the increase in speed for apps and features was very noticeable. When I run utilities to clean up the disk, it does not hang and wait, and wait some more. It is immediate. So far, so good. The price was right. I cannot be any more pleased with the drive as it will let me hang on to my PC until they stop supporting Windows 10 (then I'll go to Linux). ... show more

  • Good cheap upgrade for an aging Xbox One S
Capacity: 1TB Style: Vulcan Z
I bought a couple of these to put in my kids’ Xboxes. After watching a couple YouTube videos, installation was simple and only took about 20 minutes each. Nice improvement. Games load quicker and the home screen is a lot snappier. Hoping they last for at least the 3 year warranty period. Suggestion for those looking to upgrade an Xbox: use an external drive to copy the games from the old internal drive, then copy them back to the SSD after installation. This saves a lot of time without having to redownload the games if you’re on a slower internet speed like myself. ... show more

  • Good SSD fast and affordable.

Have used them for several projects and they are all working well. They boot up fast with both Windows and Linux . I will be getting more of them.

  • Great SSD's
Capacity: 240GB Style: Vulcan Z
Quick, reasonable cost and durable. Slap one of these in any old laptop and be amazed at the change. I always re-install the operating systems fresh on new SSD's and transfer the older files over after that. Keep your old equipment running better than it was new with an SSD from Teamgroup.

  • One year of intense use review.
Capacity: 1TB Style: Vulcan Z
Its been 1 year. I install it on an small mini pc with celeron and a "file server", you know, that soft that use "magnet links" Its been writing non stop for the entire year (and reading of course). Its not fast. I mean, it can get 200/250MB lineal read, but if you are writing several small pieces of files all around it it could go down to the 10Mb/s mark (but I mean, a lot of small pieces of files at the same time). Even that, I topped it off all the time, moving stuff out, deleting, writing, until today still going strong. Thats why I'm buying the 2TB version now :) ... show more

  • Incredible performance and value, buy it
Capacity: 512gb Style: Vulcan Z
Purchased TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 512GB SATA SSD as replacement boot drive for a server. Drive has been chugging along beautifully for a couple months. Zero complains. While I haven’t checked my copy, these should normally be kitted with a Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, 64-layer 3D TLC flash from Micron, and Samsung DRAM (according to Tom’s Hardware, she’s able to sustain writing larger files at a consistent 525MBps without slowdown). If you want a DRAM-based SATA SSD, I don’t know how you can possibly beat the value here. Proven technologies from a brand that’s been around a very long time and performance tests that place it near the top of the charts in virtually every meaningful scenario. This drive can keep up with a Samsung 860 EVO, no problem at all, but I believe an AES 256 encryption controller is missing from Vulcan drives. If memory serves, having hardware-based encryption enabled (OPAL?) for Windows Pro + Bitlocker is massively more performant than software-based encryption (XTS-AES). Outside of that use case...I have no idea. I know some of the history of SSD hardware encryption controllers, and I refuse to trust them, instead relying on slower (though arguably more reliable and certainly more auditable) software-level encryption solutions. Perhaps this is why Windows Pro defaults to software-based encryption for Bitlocker, performance penalty be darned. I spent 15 years buying Crucial/Micron and Samsung exclusively, but I’ve recently broadened my horizons with select SSDs from Inland, Hynix, and now TEAMGROUP. Just installed a TEAMGROUP MP44L NVMe in another machine and it’s like riding lightning. I’ll be buying another TEAMGROUP SSD in the very near future, you can be assured. ... show more
